This is the "new" VRS branded series winches run in parallel with Warn branded.
They are being promoted, distributed and backed by Warn (Ateko).
You wont find it on the Warn site.
This info is available from Opposite Lock and others selling the VRS series.
Not that it really makes any difference. Not to me anyway, I havent got one

      • They may be brought in by Ateco but they are not Warn

                • Latest info I have received from a reputable company is that the genuine Toyota winch fitted is actually an Avenger Mako 9.5 rebranded for Toyota. They also stated that if you didn't use the winch every month (in which case buy the Warn 9.5XP) that the Avenger is the best in the economy range of winches, more so if you wish to use rope instead of cable.

See ya on the tracks, Richo.

                    Oi!!

Some of us have to work... just cause that also included wins at Vegas casinos and trips to the snow... it was still work
I'll get the winch on soon, apparently there's a few offers of help but I think I better check it's not a box of house bricks now!!
                    Cheers, Leon

                      Hey Leon,

Richo made no secret of the fact that he wanted that winch and the fact that you won it fair & square was of no consequence.
But do you really think that he would have?????????????

I'm sure if I turn my back long enough they'll make their move!

                        • When choosing a winch I am glad my Mako winch has big free spool handle. Had to use the warn winch on our work vehicle the other day and they have a small handle making it hard to turn. Had to use a spanner to work it free.

                            Got to agree with that
The easiest free spool lever to use of any winch, just effortless!
Rotating clutch instead of sliding clutch makes all the difference.

From the easiest freespool lever to the hardest... My Magnum 9000 winch has a stupid little toggle that offers very little leverage to rotate. (Sorry about the pixelated image - All that I could find. I will replace with a pic of mine when tonight)
