I have the 9.5xp with some mods by Mal Leslie. It has been on 2 rigs so far and will most likely be on many more. Price is forgotten long after quality remains.

The bloke sent me a PDF of the webpages. He also recommended the dymena (sp) rope over the cable.

I have sent back an email to see what is actually in the box, just so there is no nasty surprises when I buy it.

So what is it that made you decide on the Runva?

Can anyone give me an opinion on a Warn XD9000 with cable as Ive been offered a really good deal on a new one, for a little more than an Avenger with rope.
After the opinions Ive seen on M8000, Im not overly impressed by Warns lower range winches.
I dont mind spending the money if I get the quality thats going to do the job and last forever and have something I can always count on , but am I??????
Or, is the quality, performance, durability and reliability no different than the Tigerz11, Avenger etc.

nothing lasts forever . just remember that a winch with cable and a roller fairlead weighs an extra 15kgs over one with rope , when you start adding bars , batteries lights all swinging off the front end past the axles it affects your ride and handling. less weight is good out front .
03 grande v6 , with added stuff that makes it go places . RTFM people !

              Price.

Seriously, I would love to chuck a warn on the car, but all have the same warranties these days, do the same thing and are most likely made in the same factory. I can't justify paying for the name.

They are going to release an 11000lb winch, 11XP, in Australia in a few weeks. Check out the runva Canada website for more info. I am leaning towards this one now.

              Cheers.

I finnished my Runva install last weekend. It came with everything you need for the job. The only surprise was the hawse needed to have an offset and it came with a centre mount. I hope to give it a run at stockton this weekend.

Mine has 2 speed, but I only use the low speed when winching. Only ever used the high speed for winding in the synthetic rope.

I've got the 9500. I was told it is exactly the same winch except for the gearbox, which makes the 12000 slower. If I do run out of power, I have the a snatchblock to turn it into a 17000, but for the smaller jobs I have the speed of the 9500. I've never had a winch before and no real experience with winches so I can't make any valid comparisons but everything feel fine for me so far. Time will tell.
