    • Yes, you can fit a winch to the Sovereign bar but you will need to buy the winch cradle from Toyota.

        • ARB bar and WARN winch advice.

          Hi all.

I have a Factory fitted Sovereign Bar and I hate it.. No real reason, just 'cause.

Anyhoo. I am in need of a Winch so I thought, why not change out the Bar at the same time. As the vehicle is a lease vehicle, I can 'replace damaged equipment' under the lease agreement. So my thoughts were on the ARB deluxe winch bar.
So my friendly ARB guy (Ben) suggested the Warn Magnum 10K with wire... (I was looking at the Tigerz 11 12000 Grande with Dyneema) and he will do a good deal on a package buy (prices seem pretty good to me BTW).

Can anyone tell me why I shouldn't get the Warn one? (the quoted price is similar to the T11). If this isn't a good option, then what is the best recommended option for someone that isn't keen on spending $2000 Plus on a winch.

          Thanks in advance.

          • The Warn Magnum isn't a bad winch but synthetic rope is so much easier to handle, is safer and lighter. I have the King One Avenger winch and am very happy with it for around $1100 with syntheitc rope. The Tigerz 11 winches seem to get gerenally good reviews but I've not used one so cant relly comment on it.

I'd stay away from a wire rope winch, just personal preference.

            • I had a Warn Winch back in the early 80's, it worked through mud, under water and covered in dust. Never once did I service it, but never did it let me down as a consequence. I know Warn Winches are reliable and proven, it will be a long time for this same amount of proven reliability to be made from a Tigers 11. I know cable, I know it works and I know how to work with it, as for the synthetic rope I'd have to do some learning on that front.

Tigerz 11 may be the bees Knees, but who knows for sure how long they will last, if I knew that I also would know which one to buy

                • I'm seriously considering a Runva. Read good things about them. Seen the hydraulic version on the back of flat bed tow trucks.

                  • I've a Superwinch 95000lb on a Sovereign Bar wire so eqv to a steel bar with no winch!! If I had a steel bar AND the winch it would be seriously some weight. For the amount of time you are going to use it I'd go as light as possible (95000lb), Prados really should not have any more than this!! You can always use the double and triple pulls to make the winch more effective! IMHO the bigger... is not necessarily better and with the steel bar, your just adding more weight to your vehicle too..so more likely to get stuck....it's a catch 22 really. At least my Sov bar keeps the weight down, with the winch and cradle if anything it's that spot...I'd feel really sorry for them/it!!!! Go the warn with a synthetic rope over the Tigerz 11.

I can't find any new winches on the Tigerz11 website. Do you have a link?

                            • My 9500 Runva winch has been excellent, and its been thru some big water crossings etc and has never failed, its the fastest winch I've seen in action so far as well.

Probably the "special edition" 12000lb (here https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater).
