I would be getting an independant assessment with a written report made on all the installations.

I would then be approaching the Department of Fair Trading if some compensation or rectification work was not carried out.

I would have no hesitation in naming and shaming this workshop. If they have performed work on your vehicle in this manner, what others have suffered the same fate.

The key thing here is that they used a hack saw (because they are a bunch of hacks) to cut the cutout. Surely they could invest in a proper plastic cutting tool.
The installers name wasn't Jeremy Clarkson was it.

THIS is the exact reason I like to do most of the mods myself to the truck. Any money saved on doing jobs myself is put back into quality tools that will last me a lifetime.

I mean to also say that most installers COULD possibly do a good job, if it were their own rig and there were no time constraints or bosses hassling them to hurry up etc. Unfortunately like most things this day and age, a lot of these guys aren't taking any pride in their work and are working against the clock to be competitive.

I should also point out the below pic was of the hayman reece towbar I installed. A much nicer finish then what most shops would spend the time doing.

Yes. I am the same. Often during the middle of an install i curse myself for going it alone and not paying someone. But, pics like this confirm that I am doing the right thing.

@Max - can you at least say whether this was one of the 'two better known' 4x4 outlets? Or was this one of the newer independent places?

Max is in Sydney and mentioned the TJM bar. That ought to narrow it down a bit.

Sydneys a big place mate, not like Adelaide

Must admit, if I was to get a lot of work done, I would give them one small job first and see if I was happy with that first.

I thought some of the independent shops can trade in TJM etc?

Sorry, my bad. I forgot about the likes of OL, etc.
Maybe I should create a four letter 4x4 accessories shop. Looks like there are a few good candidates as installers already.
