Just because you had 20 ltrs left in the tank, does not mean you can get that 20 ltrs to the motor, the fuel pickup, does not go right to the bottom of the tank, there is always about 5cm from the bottom of the pickup to the tank wall, which probably equates to about 15 ltrs.Originally posted by Way2go View PostIt's more a 'range until low fuel light comes on'.
Every time I've tested it and seen my range get down into the 10s of kms left, I've still been waiting to see the fuel light come on, and when I've filled up there's been at least 20L still in the tank.
Still, it could be useful I guess.97 VX Grande, with front & rear air lockers, ARB Sahara winch bar with tigers 11 winch, 2" EFS lift, 265/75/16 Achilles Desert hawk XMT, and more.

I have put 175 litres in once after experimenting with how far I could travel after the warning light came on, I wasn't brave enough to go any further, but it was still running no worries.Originally posted by croozza View PostJust because you had 20 ltrs left in the tank, does not mean you can get that 20 ltrs to the motor, the fuel pickup, does not go right to the bottom of the tank, there is always about 5cm from the bottom of the pickup to the tank wall, which probably equates to about 15 ltrs.

I have managed to get to the point of putting in over 170L on a number of occassions without any trouble at all while testing out the accuracy of the fuel gauge/warning light and the trip computer. I expect you could easily use up all but a couple of litres of fuel from the tanks before running into problems with the pickup.2004 Grande V6 4.0, ARB colour coded bar, Magnum 9k winch, dual battery, HD King springs/Bilstein F4-BE5-A712-MO (front), Airbag Man extended airbags/OME Sport 150R shocks (rear), OziOffroad diff drop, BFG KM2s, Hella 225s, ARB CKMA12 compressor, Rhino-Rack HD bars x3/alloy tray, Sunseeker II awning, Prodigy, TX3340, cargo barrier, 50L water tank with 12v pump, rear storage system, Waeco 60L with slide, rear door table, rear camp light.

I just did a bit of a search and it appears that the part number for the 1kz is the same as the V6 (83265A) from the following link http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_G_200...html?hl=83265AOriginally posted by kav View Postthe part number for a v6 2003 grande is 83265A computer accessory meter and is listed as $853 on the www.toyodiy site so it will be more than double that at your dealer . mine has it my old mans 2005 doesn't , he wasn't happy with that . i reckon the range computer is brilliant i barely look at the fuel guage . it also tells you if you back out of the throttle a bit you'll extend your range .Justin

Rang Toyota today, he had the part numbers for the plastic lens, the function buttons, some thing else BUT didnt have it for the actual computer part of it ?? I gave him the numbers in the link that Justo77 posted earlier. Must be the same numbers as toyota cause as soon as I gave him that number he had to ring head office. he rang me back saying he needed chassis numbers of the grande and he had to write a letter to head office in Japan so they could add the computer part that is missing from the toyota parts list to the computer system so he could then give me a price on it. Lot of frigging around because toyota left a part number of its system, never heard of it before ?? Anyway in the end he said probably find that the sensors and stuff mightn be there for any of it to work properly. Because the part isnt in toyotas computer he couldnt track down via the screen he was on as to where everything hooked up. Seems the website Justo77 posted up is more up to date then toyota itself........Suprise suprise.....Cheers SteveFace lift 150 Prado V6 auto. No mods yet

I think you need more than just the computer behind the display. You also need the 4-button assembly (83263) and the case assembly (83240B) as well as the plastic surround that goes around the 4-button panel (which I can't identify from toyodiy).Originally posted by Justo77 View PostI just did a bit of a search and it appears that the part number for the 1kz is the same as the V6 (83265A) from the following link http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_G_200...html?hl=83265A

My main concern when I was looking up that part number was to find out if the computer had the same part number for the petrol as the diesel so I didnt really look at the other parts required as I wouldnt really consider buying one new.
But thanks anyway for the heads up, at least now I know what I need if I got one from a wrecker.Justin
