Apparently I needed over 5 gig spare on the ipad before it would update 1.9g......?
Done now. Still over 5 gig spare.
The Fraser map is a huge improvement on the old one.
A question for mud maps: why don't we have a start & stop logging button? Nice & simple, like how memory map works. On memory map it leaves a trail, I prefer that, I'm not sure how your live track thing works, but from what I can see it doesn't display a trail on the map. What am I missing something?
With Mud Map HD, as long as the app is running, tracks are automatically recorded. When you are ready to save a track, you will get the option to "trim" it to the exact section you need.

When updating directly on the device, the update is downloaded > unpackaged > then the old files are replaced with the new files. Once the update is complete, there's very little change to storage space, but while it's updating, 3 copies are in use so for a big app like Mud Map HD which is 1.6GBs, around 3.5 gbs of spare storage is needed.
A way around this is to download the update using iTunes on the computer, then sync the update over to your device.

Thanks for the excellent feedback Andrew, we are working on Edition 2 of the fraser island map now and will include all your suggestions.
We completely agree that POIs are very useful, and we will be introducing some exciting features to greatly enrich POIs. The first of these features has been made available to a small group of beta testers. Would you be interested in joining our beta program? would be fantastic to get your feedback on this.

So Li, are you actually going to do anything positive to resolve your customers complaints or are you just going to ignore them and keep on trying to turn this thread into a MM2 sales pitch the way you have been??

So that would be a NO then to trying to find some way to satisfy your existing customers. And a YES to trying to sell your wares here to new customers.
Thanks just wanted to clear that up so I can go and spend my $ on HEMA instead.
Thanks MLC for getting what's happened out there, it has definitely swayed where my money is going.
Do the forum rules allow businesses to try to sell their products without paying for the privilege??? I thought they had to pay to be a retail or corporate member.
I have been using mud maps since it changed from VMS and I must say Tom was excellent help. Where has he gone ?
Mud maps asked for feed back and ideas to improve their app and then wis bang turned our ideas into a new app.
They say mud maps 2 is completely different but carries the same name and uses mud map history to promote its self.
I am with MLC and mud maps can jam it. I have tried talking with them and they give everybody the same spill.
Mud maps will rip you of either today or tomorrow.
When I paid $149 in about August last year I expected a shit load more than what I got. I did NOT expect another platform!
I don't have a problem paying say $20 per year for upgrades but ffs don't change a platform and leave me with an obsolete product.
Absolutely disgusting and Pi or Li or what ever his name is can rot in hell. Thieving prick.

You've explained why you won't do it. To claim it is not possible is ridiculous. I accept that MM2 is a new product, not an upgrade, but why not offer existing customers a (significant) discount on the purchase of MM2? Most software companies do this.
Thanks MLC for bringing this issue to us, I will now be getting hema, mudmaps will only rip you off down the track

Ian, unfortunately, Apple doesn't provide the ability to set 2 independent prices. When Mud Map 2 launched, we ran a 2 week special @$50 off the RRP with the intention of rewarding existing customers. Yes, new customers could also take advantage of this special, but this was the right thing to do because it made it simple for everyone.
For any existing customers interested in Mud Map 2, I encourage you to get in touch with us, you can reach me on [email protected]
