No BBQ today Anders, I was robbed!

Only kidding, very good checkup service on my suspension install today Anthony! Heights were checked and rear airbag sensors tweaked, the Kaka sits pretty level now. Isn't KDSS fun! Will post up some pics in my build thread shortly.

Also excellent service today from Bridgestone's Vic State Office today. No less than the Technical Field Service Manager for Vic and Tas going over my fairly new D697s which I thought were wearing unevenly. Tread depths were checked, small variations but nothing of concern. Also took me over to one of the local freight companies to borrow their weighbridge so we could check the weight of each corner, axle, and the entire vehicle to ascertain the correct inflation pressures for the D697 LTs.

I mentioned one tyre had been found to be quite under-inflated during my regular servo checks (not after a day's bush driving either). The tyre was removed from the rim while I waited and inspected for internal damage (they let me have a look while it was off); it was re-fitted and the wheel was re-balanced. No charge for any of this and I didn't even get my tyres from that store (they were dealer fitted, don't know who they sourced them from). I even scored some nice-shiny metal valve caps to replace the cruddy plastic ones because they noticed I had lost one, just a small thing but still nice of them.

The TFSM even organised a ripper fitted and balanced price for a new D697 for me so I can replace the factory Grandtrek spare at a dealer closer to home when I'm ready (have to get my rim powder-coated first so it matches the rest).

To me that's excellent customer service

That's probably a good thing LOL. I left my old Holden-Izuzu Gemini sitting in the driveway for 6 months, was amazed it still went with just a pull start by the mechanic who bought it off me. I hate to think what the oil was like though LOL. It was my first car though and served me well even if I did need to tweak the carbie to get it going sometimes (used to conk out in heavy downpours). Yes I did that myself many times, used to work night shifts and couldn't be arsed waiting for RACV at 1:00 am, etc.

I used a similar technique to start our old lawnmower too, wasn't letting hubby out of mowing so easily LOL.

              But I digress....

Interesting most of my good experiences have been mentioned,

I had the same experience with Mickey T, but with a set of MTZs replaced free of charge, due to heaps of chipping and cracks between the lugs.
Jungle reef replaced broken swag poles NQA
And one particular tyre shop I always use is Bridgestone Sandingham, ask for Jarred, loves his 4wds and will take the time to make sure you get the best tyre for you.

Another retailer I'd recommend highly is Klaus from in front camping,
                http://www.infrontcampinggear.com.au/

Makes high quality canvas gear, custom jobs no problem, and very good prices and speedy delivery.

                  Good Service Experience

I experienced some real good service from a shop more then once now and would like to start a thread that recognises good service as we always seem to tell each other when we have a bad experience but not so much on the good ones. Anyway the service that I got was from TJM store in Toowoomba, I have an order in for a bunch of stuff for my new Altitude that is arriving in a few weeks and I was wanting to pick up part of my order ahead of time for my convenience. The items I wanted to get was a roof boot and cross rails, I called into the store in the morning and said that I had some things to do in Toowoomba dn would be returning about 2pm, anyway I did not get back to the store until about 4.05pm and seeing that the guys there had a full and busy workshop, they still went out of their way to actually fit the cross rails and roof boot to my Prado, this was not in the price I paid and at that time of the afternoon was really appreciated as I was able to get home to Chinchilla (2hrs away) sooner then expected. So, big tick to TJM Toowoomba, Well done!!!!!!!! Made me a happy customer and have already recommended 2 other friends there from the good service I have received previously.
2010 Prado GXL Petrol in white, and 2013 Prado Altitude D4D Altitude in Black with new TJM bar, X-ray 220 90W HID's and UHF

Good post though and you're right, I'm the worst at sharing my bad experiences and holding a grudge (eg Mud Map!!!) so sharing the positive is, well, positive
But that under the 150 series - where this is a general thread. So IMHO not a duplication, but a more "General" thread.

                      That being said:

ToyoSpec in Hobart - good honest guys. I have my Prado mechanics now

TJM Hobart - good guys (OK, so I happen to know the owner!)

I have to post that I haven't really had exceptional service from any of the usual suspects. Kedron SciFleet were and still are good but one person left me very whelmed when she purported to represent the service manager and told me my sick injectors weren't covered by extracare warranty. Obviously incorrect and rectified but there was a week where I didn't feel well disposed towards them. Similarly I have had a bit of work done on the 150 at the same place a few others have and while they rave about the service I have had a couple of returns. No big deal and the work was done properly second time around but I still would expect it to be done right the first time. Overall happy with the products and service but it would be nice not to have to go back. My experience with a now defunct OL store is not printable and sadly no recourse either.

However on a more dedicated PP front I have bought stuff from AMTS and Brains and they have been very good to deal with. Affable characters. So I heartily recommend them and their products to anyone looking for those particular bits and pieces. I also bought a couple of things from GreyNomad but John hasn't been around for a long time. Again very nice bloke and good to deal with. Picked up roof rails from mmr and I think that was a good experience, part of the deal was helping fit his new Tigerz rack so that has to be taken into account! If I have missed another PPer out then I appologise my brain isn't what it used to be.
