    Thanks Steve,

I have to say the sentiment (honest, straightforward and hassle free) is reciprocated for anyone contemplating dealing with Steve.

Just realised that nobody has mentioned Andrew's (AMTS) exemplary service for supplying plates, spacers, auto repair kits etc.

When we found that his excellent compressor bracket won't fit the later V6 models he not only refunded the full cost (including postage) but also covered the cost to send it on to someone else.

All this in addition to his great work as a mod.

        Thank you Michael.

Wynnum Towbars deserve a mention in this thread. I got my bar fitted probably 12 months ago but the service, attitude, value, and quality of work from that father & 2 sons team is second to none. Plus they don't cut your bumper like every other t/bar does.

            Cheers
            James.

Newstar Auto at Wishart is good. Was recommended by a friend a couple of weeks before I Had a coolant leak somewhere, had never been there before but they squeezed me in even though half their staff were off sick and they were working long hours (drove past late in the wife's car and all the lights were still on)

Gave me a list of possible problems up front, kept me updated on what they found, suggested doing a couple of items 1 service early to save on labour (ie while they already had it pulled apart) and the price was reasonable.

I'll definitely be back, and will be taking the wife's car too.

Yep, I can relate to that point Garry...

OK, so I am at a stage where I need to start adding some 'accessories' the the 150 series and am looking for specific advice from the members here as to experience with 4WD shops in the Pennant Hills, Thornleigh, Normanhurst, Hornsby general area.

Are there some Prado Point members that may be able to share 'their' experience with any of the 4WD vendors in the area I have outlined above. Looking for recommendations or otherwise to help me make a decision as to where to take the Prado for some more toyz (pardon the pun ...).

Thanks in advance, PM me if you would prefer not to 'voice' an opinion on a public forum.

                    Cheers.

I'd like to give a big + to Dale who owns Coastal Suspension Automotive in Caloundra, he's been doing mates cars for ages as the mechanic in another workshop, he has now gone out on his own with his own shop for about 18 months now.
After Bridgestone couldn't get my wheel alignment right after 2 goes at it I took the car over to Dale who instantly knew the issue after looking at the figures printout Bridgestone gave me and promptly fix my car to perfection. Then the bugger didn't even want to take my money, after a game of "Here take it" "no piss off " "don't be stupid HERE take it." "NO I don't want it just buy me a beer". I had to throw some money at him as I was running out of his shop and jumped in my car & drove off.
Another time (we have another car we keep in Canberra for when we are down there) the Canberra car had a g/box issue so swmbo (I was up here in qld) took it to a shop how said the box was stuffed and was going to be a few grand to fix so she rang Dale to ask his opinion on it. He just took over the whole thing for us and spoke with the other mechanics to make sure they were on the level then checked some priceing out to make sure it was all good. Sure it was probably only a dozen ph calls and an hour of his time but I don't know too many other businesses that would do that for people.
Now to be fair I have known the bloke for a couple of years and I take both of the inlaws cars to him and swmbos (and as soon as my fixed price servicing is over my car too).
He is a very nice bloke, honest with his pricing, really knows his stuff especially when it comes to suspension, and has a good name with other shops around the area. (all the local tyre shops apparently go to him if they have alignment issues).
I would highly recommend him to anyone in the area.
Tell him James sent you and you will be looked after with extra care and love lol.

A +1 for the guys at ARB Alice and In Tune Automotive. Driving in on Friday night, while still on the dirt, the handling from the back end was unnerving. So on Saturday morning i went into ARB to see if they could fit a set of shocks but they don't open the workshop Sat mornings. One of the guys got on his phone and rang his mate up the road at In Tune Automotive to see if he could fit the shocks for me... no worries. ARB had the shocks in stock and In Tune had my back end feeling good The drive back home on Sunday was much more comfortable and safer

                          Cheers

They (ARB) get a bit of business from my counterparts in Warburton, Warakurna, Blackstone and Kintore when the accessories fall off the troopies. Mainly because Toyota don't really care.

Dehne at Hamilton Exhaust Centre, he did Pradie's 3" system - it's brilliant!
He also did the 4" system on the dodge, it's got more mumbo now, have to watch the loud peddle.
Have recommended it to other friends and they have all be very happy, even my friends Toyota echo :-)
His prices are good, he knows his stuff, he's been doing it since he was 16, and there's no BS.
If you're not sure what you want he can make suggestions, and seems to be held in high regard by those who have low flying vehicles with all the mods that require sports exhaust systems.

Rydges Sydney Airport (international side). Very nice rooms that are very quiet and good customer service. They also run a shuttle bus to the domestic airport every half hour for free.
