And the outcome from your friendly discussion with the Manager is, IMHO, bullish!t.

After everything you've said about the quality of their service, you can't just put this down to a mistake and one d!ckhead.

Imagine how many times this has been done before. Or how many others get away with this crap.

Let others decide. Quite frankly, if your post about their response is it, I'd be sending video to ACA. If they value you and their reputation, they'll be doing more than saying sorry. You've done nothing wrong so not sure of why you're backing down on this issue.

Sorry for your troubles but this sh!t needs to be called for what it is.

It is impossible for the rubber to move once the strut is assembled. But poor form on the loose nuts.

Better check that the bottom strut bolt was tightened when the car is on the ground and not while up on a hoist. Otherwise the bush will just get chewed up.

When the rears are the same as the fronts, it looks like the front is higher. You need a bit of rake for it to look 'normal'. Plus it helps when you load up the Prado for a trip, it doesn't drag it's butt around if it has some rake to start off with.

I would be going nuts right now, naming and shaming him to anyone that would listen, posting his details on every forum and taking the video to the police station.

It might sound like childish revenge but I would be doing it more to stop other people getting this crap service and more importantly doing all I could to get that hoon off the road.

I would be thinking if I don't do something about this clown who's to say he won't kill some kid crossing the road on a test drive in someone else's car next week. Imagine if that did happen and I saw it on the local news and though I maybe could of done something about it?

Agree with that & every post.
          Spacers are bad news.
790/820mm is about perfect for a Prado.

Tighten bottom bolt on the floor helps prevent premature wear.
Suspension experts say that is the rod, if its not tightened on the floor, it can wear on the side.

Loose top hat, not even loose, just sitting there, this is so pathetic

after all this sh!t, that's soooo bad you have to name them on this pst.

Agree with the punters here, name and shame, disgraceful behaviour and work, and they get paid for the privilege of giving ya car a flogging, what if you get a ticket from a camera in a few weeks? 100 in a 40 zone , near a school no less, mate save someone else the same drama, and help rid the world of this cowboy style workmanship and behaviour.

            Cheers

                  Steve

There is no doubt you are honorable in "protecting the boss"

However, you are a customer and the Boss did NOT protect your assets, took your money and has a legal duty of care.

You should be offering him an honourable out by making you an offer to:
                  1. Apologise -check
                  2. Refund your money - uhm outstanding
                  3. Terminate the shite - uhm oustanding

                  or
                  4. Suffer severe loss of customers when it it either placed on YouTube or Today tonight.

Seriously, whether he knew or not, HE is the boss, HE takes home the profits, HE has the responsibility for HIS staff.

Just got back from the 4wd shop and had another go about the nuts and been pissed at paying labour for shit work man ship. There are two spacers either side. He said they run the same strut for all of them and where the spacer sits some thing to do with depending on your load as to what spacers are used ?? What is installed is recommended but if it doesn't drop 5 to 10 mm within 500k he has two 10mm spacers to put in and pull one of the others out either side.. I have no idea about this shit so can only go by what you guys here and him telling me stuff. He said I could take these straight out of my 120 ? and put into a 150 if I needed. So I suppose I have to wait until 500k and see how it goes. Not sure the build date of the parts would be an issue ?? Cheers Steve

Old Stock January 2013...???? You want the paint to be still wet while they fit to your Prado do you?

The shocks which probably count more so aren't old when you consider the time from packing to the time they reach a workshop for fitup, the coils are a little older but they are only wound steal with a bit of paint.

And what was his excuse this time. Seriously you are owed a refund and keep the gear at a minimum.
Is the rubber on top of the spring a few pages back installed upside down???

                              • So now they actual tightened everything i would assume after settling you will end up under 800mm at front which is all good.

Rear seems low compared to suspension database on here which might explain u saying it looks a bit skew if ? Maybe your rears loaded up though ? fuel/other
