I wouldn't be surprised to see it go sooner. Mining is abandoning due to ANCAP rating and Toyota dont sell enough to warrant increasing.

Id agree with that, all our cruisers at RioTinto are being phased out... and the new Rangers that we are using are JUNK!

I was told 2015 was the last year of production. Now it was campfire talk, but by someone who has connections, so, who knows? Basically it is only us and South Africa still being the market. Oh and every armed militia in Africa who uses them and the hilux to make their 'technicals'.

        Anyway, not long now.

High tech isn't necessarily the problem. The real problem is that when things fail you are very limited on where you can get repairs and/or spares, particularly so when travelling through the more distant parts of this great country. No road-side assist, no RAC, no tow trucks.

I have to agree that Toyota is a more reliable vehicle when compared to other makes..... but if u go to those "other vehicle make" forums u will read a different story.... Their usual comments are that people who bag their cars are usually ones that have never owned them or really had any experience with them......

One thing I do find interesting too is when u look at Forums or Blogs of people who do a fair bit of international touring, that the humble old Landrover seems to be quite often the vehicle of choice......Along with Toyota of course....

I have a mate with a Landrover Defender. He's spent more of his holiday time waiting for the LR roadside assist than he's actually spent driving around the country-side.

Never drive anything with Rover written on it , further than you can afford to have it towed

Does that apply to the moon rover too?

The moon rover is still there. That's their problem. They only had one. If you drive a rover you have to have two! One to get you there and one to get you back!

They've got more than one over there mate. Like all rovers they will be broken down and stranded one day.
They just released a new video of one actually. Amazing scenery.

At RioTinto Rail we use the GX Prado as the go to vehicle for the driving between Dampier and all the mines inland, the Rangers were a big mistake that we are happy didn't make it's way over to 7mile. The Prados cop a hiding and are still going which is more than what I can say about the more "basic" Troop Carriers they bought a couple of years ago.

It's English, and we have separation issues
Edit. I'm an idiot thought you were saying range rover
