So I've been pondering this a little while now. More a hypothetical than actually doing it though. I've been thinking about Toyota's 4x4 range and now none of them really meet/tick all the boxes. Hilux not having much space or pulling power of the bigger cruisers.
Would you:
A) Buy a Landcruiser Dual Cab GXL
Have the leaf spring rear converted to Coil overs
Good:
All ready a Dual cab
Looks pretty tough
Plenty of aftermarket gear for them
Not so good:
No auto availability
B Buy a 200 Series and have it chopped and the front converted to Solid axle?
Good:
V8 twin turbo diesel
Auto
Better cabin/more space - arguable?
All ready two tanks on some models for long range.
Not so good:
Gotta have it chopped to be Dual cab
Buy price is more
All right go, pick the cr#p out of my idea.
