Youi seem cheap. Has anyone had experience claiming from them? After all that's what we are paying for.

I just did an online quote with Youi. It's more than double what I'm currently paying.
I'm buggered if I can figure how they claim to be cheaper than "the others", unless they really aim for customers that don't use their vehicles.
my premium doubled with AMMI so I got a quote online from them and put my neighbors address directly across the road and it was $300 cheaper than I was charged so I rang and thier excuse was she has a park opposite her !!! ??? mate its all a scam to get you in then up the price next renewal , I got a quote from Coles which was $430 more than HALF of what I'm paying but the reviews on their claims was horrendous so I've ended up with Allianz at $670 STILL $300 less than AMMI , and they've got the cheek to give you a 2.5% discount then DOUBLE the premium ,so much for loyalty I'm now going to change my insurer every year and play them at thier own game .................Atheism is a non-prophet organization.

I got a quote for mine from NRMA which was $650 ish for the VX. We will have 3 cars and our house through them and they have always been reasonable. I am changing the 150 over to them before the GTG as they cover it anywhere unlike the one through the lease company.

I'm up for renewal with AAMI this month, was $1,125.00 now $1,250.00 with the market value still $79,990.00 for my 2013 MY14 VX. RACV, Alliance and a few others were all the same +/- $50. Youi came in the highest at $1,868.00 :/2013 MY14 VX Prado TD, Bullbar, Airtec Snorkel, Uniden UH8080NB, Tyredog TPMS 1400AX, ScangaugeII, Interior LEDs, Creed 9' LED Spotties.
Don't look at me, I'm Gen X, we are stuck in the middle of all this....

I have had a claims experience with Youi and while they were a fantastic company to deal with from a customer service perspective for a very long time I have just moved the Prado away from them for one simple reason - choice of repairer.
I am meticulous with all my cars and when we have to claim (have had 2 not at fault accidents over a period of 4 years), I want to be able to take my car to the repairer that I use and trust rather than the shop that the insurance company mandates I send the car to and Youi no longer allows that.
I was dissatisfied with work that was done at one of their "preferred repairers" and after a significant to-ing and fro-ing the effort wouldn't have been worth the outcome so I just let it go.
I ended up paying more for my insurance but am confident that should something go wrong, I will be happy with the standard of work to repair the car.
Keep an eye on this also when dealing with the cheap and nasties like Coles, Budget Direct, Progressive etc.
Hope this helps in some way guys.Pitbull - 2003 4.0L V6 Prado Grande.

I am with Coles for my misses car and had a not at fault accident. The whole procedure was very pain free. Had to go to 1 of their preferred repairers but being in western Sydney. I had a choice of about 4-5 within 15kms of my place. The ones they gave me a choice with that I can remember were very good high quality big name shops. The one I actually went to closest to my work had quite a few newer mercs and beemers at. So I felt pretty safe leaving my $4k Camry there.2008 Prado 120 GXL V6 auto. The one time I let RACV send me to their preferred repairer (a shop they part-owned) the repairs were sub-standard and took way too long, they even managed to paint my bull bar the wrong colour. When it went back to have that rectified I demanded a loan car at their expense as my Prado had already been off the road for a month (waiting for bar to be re-powder coated, etc). They gave it to me and I returned it after 3 days, strange how quickly they can get the job done when it's costing them. Two or three weeks later I get a call from the hire car company they used asking me how long I had the car for as they'd only just received the call to pick it up. Then I find out they had billed the car to my credit card, some $700! They reversed it and presumably got the money out of the repair shop but it just goes to show how dodgy some repair shops can be, would never use them again.
Have never had a problem with my chosen local repair shop, any problems and he gets his guys to fix them right away. Sometimes saving a few dollars isn't worth it when it comes to insurance.
