Hi guys, I know it doesn't help those who have already brought swags but I have been using one of the Anaconda Dune Outback swags for 2 years now and have found it great. Good size 210x90x65cm and regularly on sale for around $220. The canvas seems very good as does the midge mesh and stiching, three alloy poles and PVC venal base. I got mine on sale for $200 with a free Dune 10cm self inflating mattress, very comfortable. I seasoned the swag before use and have never had any problems with leaks. Yes it is made in China and is reasonable cheap, but I can't fault it. I brought a second for my son at christmas, no problems with it either.

I have an oz trail Mitchell double . Bought it because I like room . It takes two to roll it up and takes up half of the car inside . If you put it on the roof I can't imagine what it would do for your fuel economy . It takes almost as much time to set up as a 4 man tent . But with its 70 mm mattress it's very comfy and spacious .
03 grande v6 , with added stuff that makes it go places . RTFM people !

Got my Swag today, it came on monday but I was out of town until today. It look pretty good, well made and nice and spacious.

took it out the back yard, set it up then proceeded to hose it down to season it. Only problem is that the water is beading to much (good when its raining ) and its not soaking up any water.

I think I am going to soak it in the bath over night then set it up to dry!!

I have a Burke & Wills Redgum Kingsize. In fact "we" have two of them. It acts as a tent for the petite "other part" of "we".

I have recently acquired a Darche King Tourer.
Nice roomy swag, particularly good if you're like me and have a bit of claustrophobia. Its 1100 wide and long enough for all 6 foot 2 of me.

I set it up in the back yard and watered it...I must have looked strange to those who saw me doing so.

Burke & Wills king size. Kinda fits in the tray of her Hilux when we're seriously roughing it or fits nicely in the tent for those occassions when glamping is more appropriate. Mattress is bloody comfy.

Haha, yep mattress came out. I left it in there for about 2 hours, the about 2 hours outside before I put it up in the shed on the off change the pooch wanted to work her jaw. Just about to put if back outside, it will hit 30 degrees here today so should be completely dry in a few hours.

I think Canberra's expected max is about -28 if I'm not mistaken.

Just scored myself a secondhand one of these: http://www.ultimaswag.com/ultima.htm (the ultima king size)

Would never have bought one new, could never justify that price. Had myself a very top limit of $250. Could not resist at the price and was going for health reasons and downsizing!! It's a monster when it's wrapped. I gunna have to get a bag for it and maybe carry it on the crossbars, esp if not alone! The Oz army recommend them and it's a real sturdy well made bit of kit! Very happy.

As I'm a newbie swag owner....is it worth doing this to my @5yo second hand one? I got wet on a trip @18months ago but no leaks.

Should canvas be seasoned occasionally? It's very good quality and want to keep for a long time. I'm not a just toss in the bin when I've had enough (as it was dirt cheap) person!!! I would never have bought it RRP! Thanks.
