Going the tint is one of the best things you can add to you Prado,I've gone full tint minus the front windscreen and had mine done through New Town Toyota and they still or did out source. I've had no issues with my tint, mine is the second darkest legal tint available.

    Cheers.

Tinting is great. Just stay away from DMS tinting in Osborne Park. They used a pot scourer on the exterior paint of my pride a joy. Then when presented with evidence and a eye witness they admitted it but would not offer compensation. . I threatened them with court action they denied the whole thing.. Do not use them..

Not sure how much truth is behind it but when I bought my 2.8 I was advised by the dealer that they would only tint the front windows as the rears had privacy glass. 'Apparently' even if they use clear on the rears it makes the tint illegal because the clear still has a very light tint that pushes it over the 30%... Toyota actually refused to do it and said I would need to get it done after delivery if I wanted the rears done..

If you pay the dealership for tinting, they will simply take it to the cheapest local tint shop to get done, and then add a substantial markup for themselves.

I paid $120 to get my two front windows tinted and I'm more than happy with the results. Personally I don't see the point of paying more than that.

I got the darkest legal tint which is slightly lighter than the back windows. You can tell if you look closely but in most lighting situations the difference is very minor. The tint shop was happy to put an illegal darker tint on if I wanted, although he did warn that it would decrease visibility at night.

The guy tried to sell me clear UV tint for the other windows. He declined to mention that standard clear autoglass already blocks 97% of UVB radiation, so all you are achieving is increasing your UV protection from 97% to 99%. Not really my idea of good value.
