Snow chains on 265/70R17 AT3

Does anybody know if you can fit chains to these on a 120 Prado please? Was toying with the idea of a visit to the snow this year!

You can fit snow chains on anything, as long as you got the right chain size :-)

You can fit chains to a 120 but only to the rear wheels..
Do not try to fit to the front wheels

Chains will foul (at the front) on the UCA with 265/70R17.

Can anyone recommend a place to get snow chains for 265/65 R17 in VIC - I see I need to carry them in VIC, unlike NSW.

I ended up buying some from Aldi. Haven't looked in the pack but I think they come as 4 - if so and since it sounds like we can only use 2 the other 2 will be spare/for sale. Still trying to get my head around why we cant chuck them on the front

Have a look at the clearance between the inner side wall of your front tyre and the upper control arm. The chain would also have to run through this gap and simply wouldn't fit. Short answer, the chain would foul the upper control arm.

You'll only find 2 in the box. Don't try to fit the plastic round guards that come with them - they don't fit.

I actually put the aldi chains on all four wheels just to test it in the drive way (gravel), did not find anything wrong, but it was only 20 m straight drive, and back then I had 265/65/17 wheels, I will check again this weekend.

Too easy, must have been damn close though if you are running factory offset wheels. Living in Queensland I have never had the need for snow chains, so no personal direct experience.
