Hi Brendo. Looks like you negotiated a great deal. I’m about to start a round of negotiations for the same - VX but keep flipping about between crystal pearl and silver. I’m keen to know which dealer you ended up going through - could you send me dealer details or location?

Also, why do you plan on ditching the 18’s for 17’s?

Nice work Brendo. If you don't mind I'd interested to hear your thoughts on why VX over the GXL ?

I had quotes for both the Gxl (with leather option) & the Vx.
The prices I was getting for the Gxl with leather were around 67,000.

We currently have a vx which both the wife and I love. I know the kdss is gone in the vx now which was a big negative imo, but there is still a lot of small differences that we like with the Vx.

You get more safety which is important with two young children. Fridge in Centre console which is not a bad option to have, multi terrain monitors which gives you camera views all around the vehicle, 14 speaker stereo with digital radio, rain sensing wipers,auto leveling headlights, auto high beam, auto dimming rear view mirror, 18” wheels instead of 17” although I will be swapping for aftermarket 17” wheels/Tyres straight away. Even little things like chrome handles inside instead of black plastic.

These are the reasons behind our choice of the Vx. Also most of the extra 5k you spend you will recoup when selling the vehicle.
And last but not least I have my 15OVX personalized plates they would go to waste if I ended up in a Gxl.

Hi Aronm. I Just wanted to say thanks for putting this database together. I knew pretty well what I should be paying for my new Prado but this information was very useful for the negotiating process.

I spoke with 3 different dealerships and negotiated my way to this price point!
I used the data base created by another member on this thread. Page 28 as a reference for pricing which was very helpful.

Quoted 84500 for a Kakadu Metallic with tow bar on fleet discount (Master Builders) before haggling.

So will there be no Altitude on this prado update ? You say discontinued,

Altitude models are introduced prior to an introduction of a new or facelift model. Kind of like a runout model with extra features for a small price.

Same here. We've been looking around as the 120 gets a few km's on her now but there's nothing that the new cars give us that we really want. We even went to a car dealership to get a trade in price a few months back and we started listed the features and we both thought, shit, we don't want to get rid of it now.

Hopefully the first and last time. I did hear of one guy on the radio who rang up and his wife did it twice! I never knew there was a dedicated wrong fuel service out there either. 👍🏻
