I read the comment about increased trans cooling to cope with the additional 500kg tow capacity but darned if I could see a trans cooler anywhere.
wonder what actually was changed, it looked identical to mine...
I am doing my research of Prado now and have found the following explanation of increased towing capacity in caradvise that it was achieved only by ECU calibration and improved front bumper changes.

    Quote from caradvise:

"Arguably the biggest change to the 2018 Toyota Landcruiser Prado is the uprated towing capacity. The Prado can now tow a braked 3000kg (750kg unbraked) thanks to revisions made to the powertrain ECU calibration, along with additional cooling courtesy of changes to the front bumper."

While on the other hand, the new headlights (low beam) are amazing. After spending 240,000km in my 2013 GXL, perhaps I'm not used to looking out into the dark with the new LED lights, but wow it's a massive difference.... those low beams are bright!!!

Also, it doesn't look like the headlight adjusting switch is there anymore. My mate who was driving in front of me at night was complaining how high the headlights were shining.
Hi Hummys, Manual headlamp levelling was a standard option in GX and GXL 2017. Can you please confirm that it is not in 2018 GXL anymore? Anything is said in Owner's Manual about the feature? Toyota removed a feature comparison table from brochure - it is hard now to reverse engineer now what is in what is out.

I have been supplied with a figure by the lease company which is a FBT Base Value of $63551. My understanding is that that figure includes GST but excludes Stamp Duty, Registration and Compulsory Third Party insurance.

My question is what do the Stamp Duty, Rego and CTP costs amount to ?

If I get a better quote from a dealer the fleet company will go with them, so I need to know what those costs are so I can deduct them from any quote I get.
FBT Base Value does not include GST. Tax is not applied on a top of another tax. GST will be payable on top of Post-Tax contributions during each lease year and will be applied for residual value in case you decide to purchase the vehicle after the lease is finished. FBT will be applied for running and loan servicing portion of Pre-Tax payments.

We are in Canberra (military) and late December Toyota here told us the price for a 2018 GXL is $80,500. Toyota Canberra and every one else is advertising the 2017 for that price.

Please let me know if I am wrong but it looks like I have to negotiate face to face to get a better price like STR8UP posted as few days back. $63K with a towbar and a heap of other accessories. That sort of deal is very unlikely in Canberra so we need to travel I guess. Last time we bough was 1999 - we got a really good deal a a Prado Snowy at Nunawadding Victoria. Melbourne then was slightly cheaper than Sydney and Canberra showed us the door.

We are not is a hurry but our son is pushing the new Prado because he gets the old for a bargain - haha. Cheers and thanks.
You are about right for the price of GXL (no leather option) with tow pack & floor matts & full tank fuel, with eastern melbourne dealers. At the moment $64K is where you can haggle from for the package mentioned just now, if you like to consider the leather option, your starting point will likely to be 67K. Naked GXL for 68K-69K is likely the official price on the website, the leather option will cost you about $3000.

People here have got more interesting deals in NSW and QLD, however, I couldn't get them anywhere in eastern melbourne, please refer to previous posts, you will find heaps.

I've put a deposit on GXL with leather option, tow pack, floor matts, full tank of fuel, for 66K. But the car will be available in Mar or Apr.

    Cheers

Yeah auto and tow bar rated to 3T on when geared with an auto. Not sure what the tow pack is. Assuming it is just the tow bar and loom?

That sounds like a pretty good deal. Is that for Automatic & the 3T towpack which is only on the new 2018 model?
