Ugrade to a 3 inch exhaust - yep what a good idea.
Do it myself with some help from mates - yep great idea.
Re-assessment of above thoughts.... WHAT THE F%^& WAS I THINKING.
I will leave the thread update of my exhaust to Matty to post considering he has spent 2 days dealing with 3 x MOTHER (BEEEEEP)(BEEEEEEEP) BOLTS that connect a short arsed dump pipe to a turbo that is 18 months old.
No wonder 3 inch exhausts give you increased power. Its a refund of the effort and energy expended in getting the (BEEEEEEPING) thing on!!!!!!
Sincerely peeved and ready to buy a motor bike.

Ok so I now have a 3 inch Mandrel bent Manta exhaust system.
Like most on this forum that have done their own install, 99% of the install was straight forward. The mantra system includes the dump pipe which means undoing 3 little nuts that hold the original small dump pipe onto the turbine. So easy, we (Matt) set about undoing those 3 little nuts..... and that's where the proverbial ht the fan. These nuts which are the pinch type at one end are made of mild steel that rounds off like putty. Add to this the impossible location of one of the nuts and you have the perfect recipe for disaster. Seriously Yota must install this bit of pipe with the motor BEFORE they lower it into the engine bay. Crappy design....
In the end after numerous attempts with numerous spanners, sockets, extension bars, multi grips, 2 cans of WD40 a heat gun, a flame torch and a lot of chosen words the last of the nuts wold not release so Matt applied all the above to the stud. After much persistence the stud came out, the dump was off and the new system went in effortlessly.
The end result is the note is a minor change and the turbo is clearly audible, importantly though the rig is now ready for the Chip-It chip which will go in soon.
Thanks to Matt and Dave for their efforts, especially Matt for his tenacity in not giving in and applying a repetitive regime to ensure the stud did not snap off in the turbo!
