    Hey Guys,
New to site and new to Prado ownership! Haven't had a 4WD for a fair few years and just got home today with a new 150!
Pics to follow shortly, small pile at Cairns ARB waiting to be fitted starting tomorrow.
Can't wait to see the new girl in her bling!
    Cheers,

      Hey Dusty

You'll love the 150 have a look on the trip reports and you'll see what they can do without mechanical mods, my suggestion is if you are going to do some more challenging off orading get a 2" lift early and save some of the marks on the sidesteps and rear panels.

See ya on the tracks, Richo.

Congratulations Dusty! But you might want to be careful with the use of the term 'bling' around here.

Hopefully you didn't get an o-so-predictable white Prado, as we all know what people who buy white Prado's are like... silver (or Silver as I like to call it) is a much more sophisticated colour.

Some associate Silver with being 'second place', however we all know gold is just for pompous know-it-alls. Silver shows you have a sense of modesty and class.

So what do ARB have in store for it?

I just love sitting on the sidelines watching the "bait" being thrown! Now wheres that Trekrider lurking in the shallows? Will he (and others, bite?)

Sorry Dusty, Welcome to Pradopoint! As you can see there's a lot of shenanigans and the occasional sledging that go on here... All good fun! Enjoy the forum.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
              Yep, live in Cairns.
Dropped off the 150 today at ARB. Getting OME coils and shocks (2"), Deluxe winch Bar, XP9.5 Warn, IPF 900XS spotties, Safari Snorkle, duel battery system (w/- Redarc DC Charger) and Kaymar Rear Bar w/- tyre and Jerrycan Holder. Last item is a wait due to mis-communication when originally ordered, due in about 4 weeks.
Still up in the air with tyres. Not convinced on lockers just yet, combination of not knowing just how "off-road I want to take her and wanting to see if the traction aids are as good as advertised. Can't wait to get her back to go for a spin!
Will post pics as sson as I sort it out!
              Cheers,
              Dusty

                Should read rules first!

Clearly worked out the pic posting routine.
This is the new rig just and hour after I picked it up from the guys at Ken Mills in Nambour. Had flown down that morning from Cairns (Saturday) to drive it back up. Needless to say it will need its first service straight away, just as soon as the guys at ARB are finished!

                  Hey Dusty

The full kit and kaboodle well done, I've had my 150 for 2 years and you will be very surprised at how well the traction control works, i haven't found the need for lockers yet.

See ya on the tracks, Richo.

That's some excellent kit you have planned Dusty. I look forward to seeing your build up.

Is your Redarc the BCDC1220 or just the isolator? The BCDC is recommended for the lower-voltage diesel. In addition, it provides 3-stage charging, which helps with the performance and longevity of your aux battery (regardless of petrol or diesel).

Yep, got the BCDC as recommended by ARB. Of course the list is ever growing, rubber next, then compressor, side rails (rock sliders) once arb comes up with a set. Underbody protection, UHF and a roof rack, plus as mentioned earlier, jury is still out on lockers!

ARB was working on underbody protection but they have not released as yet have they?

                          Hey LostDingo2,
Haven't checked on underbody lately, I see Ironman have released some for the 150, not sure if they would match up to the ARB bar though. One other thing I noticed at my local TJM store was the front recovery points for the 150. They were $140. What the .....? From what I can see they're just a couple of 10mm plates cut to fit the chassis rails/ bullbar mounts. Has anyone else seen these?

                            Hi Dusty

Two things, ARB don't have plates yet, Ironman couldn't tell me whether theirs were for the diesel or petrol as the sumps are different, and TJM don't have a transmission plate yet just the sump plate for the diesel nothing for the petrol. Brown Davis have a full ste at about $650.00 plus fitting, if you have a lift and are carefull you will be OK.

I have the Outback Ideas recovery points fitted and yes they are expensive but have been tested, if you want to do some club trips (most 4WD clubs) then you will need to satisfy them that the recovery points are safe, easiest way is to have commercial ones. Interestingly both mine are a little flattened on the bottom so they have probably already paid for themselces, othe than that they have only been used to drag a tree off the track on a Pradopoint trip.

See ya on the tracks, Richo.

Thanks for the info Richo, fully agree with safety of recovery points. Have seen shiney chrome hooks come flying off and ending up in a soft top of a Jeep. Problem there was not the hook so much as the bolts used. They were neither long enough or rated and came out. That was probably more to what I was getting at with the Outback Ideas one. I am happy they have tested and rated they're recovery points, however no points rating means much if not mounted correctly. So a 10mm plate should be relatively inexpensive to reproduce and the R & D for the correct high tensile bolts is where the money should be spent. Sorry starting to get off topic and a litle long winded, just thought they were a little expensive.
                              Cheers Dusty.
