I haven't used it full of "food" (code word for beer) yet. I reckon it wont make any difference just smoother. It still has a dodgy locking pin set up though.

I got a email regarding pricing for the solar screens(see below), reckon I will just get the Cargo Set for now.

    Dear Adam

    Thank you for your enquiry.

Prices for our product vary from vehicle to vehicle depending of the volume needed to cover the required windows.

Charges for your Toyota Prado 120 2003 to 2009 are set out below in sections.

Full Set (all windows 8 piece) $499.00

Touring Set (all windows behind the front doors 5 piece) $282.00 – Most Prado owners choose this combination.

Cargo Set (3 piece set for the luggage area) $195.00

Post and Handling is an additional (AU$15.00 Qld, NSW & Vic) (AU$20.00 Tas, SA, WA & NT). All prices include GST.

Each set of Solarscreens is supplied with a waterproof, zippered, Denier bag for ease of storage when not in use.

Our product is fully guaranteed for 12 months and is made to order in Brisbane Queensland. Our suction cups perform exceptionally well over a very long period (years).

Our terms are: Cheque, Money Order, and Direct Deposit at any ANZ Bank or EFT (internet banking). We do not have a Credit Card Facility.

Our Screens are “made to order” and we do not carry shelf stock; normally we can make and dispatch within 3 days after receipt of payment. Current Turnaround is up to 5 Days.

If we can be of further assistance or you wish to order, please reply with you Postal Delivery Address.

    Thanks again for your interest.

    Best Regards,

    Al & Sue Curran

Well the latest Mod the be done to the car is due to terminal engine failure @ 100,000km on the way out of the Bungle Bungles. A new long motor and turbo all being paid for by my Toyota Extended Factory New Car Warranty. The best $1800 I have ever spent.

                Regards Adam

Shiz Man not the best time for a repower I wouldn't think.
What was the cause for the catastrophic failure.
Tried to ring ya this morning to see how the trip was going, sorry to hear this news.

Even with my limited mechanical knowledge, 'terminal engine failure' sounds pretty bad...

It's not all that bad. I have thought that I have had a problem for a while now and although I have had it checked out a few times with "cold start snap shots" as one would expect the answer was that "all injectors are in spec". Well at least it happened within the Extended Warranty period. My only cost will be the 76 series hire car for $200 a day for the month so we could keep on our Kimberly's trip.

                      Regards Adam

Gidday Adam, It was really great to catch up with you at Sawtooth Gorge. I'm really sorry to hear about your engine. Even with the warranty it must be a considerable inconvenience not to mention expense. Where is the car going to be repaired and how long do you think it will take? I hope that all goes well for you.

                            Regards

It was great catching up with a fellow PPer on the track. Also saw Brett & Brooke (thswyup) at Mount Elizabeth Station.
The car is being fixed at Kununurra. Were currently in Broome soon to fly up to Horizontal Falls, then the treck back home begins. Will go home on the black top via Kunurra to get thr car then Katherine to Adelaide. Will have to take the first 1000km slow to run in the new long motor, quick oil change then keep going.
So how did the CSR go?

                              Regards Adam

Great to hear that it's all being replaced. The CSR was fantastic, if not a bit wet at times. You need to convince your wife to give it a go sometime. It was really an eye opener with some really stunning scenery and lots of lovely sandhills.

The car went really well with just one flat and I had to replace the auxiliary battery at Kunawaritji because it wouldn't hold charge. The sand hills posed no real problems even with the trailer in tow. Unfortunately my brothers Jackaroo didn't fare so well with the aftermarket sub tank falling out on the track, the rear diff cracking and the roof rack collapsing. We managed our way through the problems and it limped home to be retired now. I think I have convinced him to go for Prado next time.

Anyway I hope that all goes well with your repairs.

                                Regards
