Nice work with the switches.... That's a lot of light output with two strips. I have just the one full length strip which I find myself having to dull down with the dimmer I have attached.

While fitting the LED lights in the awning I decided to change the LED strip on the back door, when I fitted it the first time I only had 600mm so not long enough to go the whole way across so I put it closer to the car when the door is open to get the light into the draws.
This puts out more than enough light but the problem was when I look in the mirror when driving its not center and annoys me big time. I got a black strip a little longer so is center and blends better to the trim I think.

Nice looking car. I have a white GXL 07 manual, with the Toyota sovereign bar. Still deliberating over whether I should change to a steel bar. Seeing yours, I think the ally bar is good enough for the rough stuff.07 White GXL D-4D & 6 Spd Manual. Sovereign Bar with 3 LF 240's. RedArc dual battery system. I have been planning on installing a winch for a little while now, Picked up a Ridge Ryder 12000LB (super cheap) a few months ago and desided to fit it to the Prado. First step was strip the gearbox to check for anything that shouldnt be in there (I have heard some people find swarf and things in these winchs) and repack with new grease which I did last weekend.
Then I machined up a couple of 6mm spacers for on top of the struts so when I put the extra weight on the front the ride height shouldnt drop at all.
I oxy cut a couple of rings out of 6mm plate and turned ID and OD and marked the PCD and drilled the holes. (Thanks to AJ120 for the measurements)
Can not notice they are in there unless you look real hard, I wouldnt go anymore than 6mm though as the studs in the strut are just long enough for that.
Without any extra weight the measurements are
Front Left
Before 795mm - After 806mm
Front Right
Before 792mm - After 805mm
So around 10-11mm of lift should compensate for the weight.2006 GXL 1KZ TD Manual
