    Matty,

I reckon you even mention the use of this in your rig build up......

Yeah, here I was thinking I was a legend with a great idea.
You could have told me and saved me a day folding metal and blowing holes in it with welding rods. I'm useless with metal and was getting really sh1tty.

Turns out that the ARB battery tray as a mounting platform is a good idea...

I'll post some pictures when I get everything tidied up, but for now a quick description.
Power was sourced from the pink wire of the accessory outlet under the ashtray as well as the ignition cable. The compressor switch is located in the blank to the right of the steering wheel. I moved the dash light dimmer switch to the top and the new switch is under the mirror control pad. The ARB switch was bigger than the hole allowed, so out came my new Dremel tool with a file attachment. With a bit of care it now looks as if it came straight off the production line. All the cable was fed through the drivers side grommet and cable tied along the firewall around to the compressor.
All in all, I'm pretty happy with myself and I saved a few bucks in the process.
Trust me when I say, if I can do this, anyone can. Give it a go........

You know that feeling when you complete something that you thought you couldn't. Well I'm feeling pretty good about myself at the moment. I finished my install of an ARB compressor (CKMA12) tonight. For someone that would rather work with timber than anything else, it's in and working first time.
I was talking with the guys at ARB Regency Park last weekend explaining how I was making a box to mount the compressor in. I planned to mount it over the left wheel arch like everybody else. After a bit of discussion, I asked if the compressor would fit in the battery box as this would save me doing some dodgy welding. Yep, sure would and they've heard of a couple of installs just like it. Great, thought I had a good idea but somebody beat me to it. Again....
Anyway, tray and compressor were installed last weekend, with the wiring to wait until today. After a lot of reading of LFAR's install guide, I was ready to attack it.
    End result,it's in and working.

Righto, spent this morning finishing my fold down table.
Mostly it's the same as other PP'ers except I only carpeted one side. This was to allow for any spills whilst in use. Now I can just wipe them up and no waiting for carpet to dry. I had some Merbou stain is the shed which was applied to the plywood for a little colour. Then it was a coat of marine gloss to finish it off. It will get another couple of coats in the coming weeks for added protection.
I'm pretty happy with the aluminium framing, could do with a little adjusting but it will do for now. The hinges are Evacool plastic ones that clip in and out.
Not a bad effort if I do say so myself.

I've been attacking a couple of jobs lately but sadly, no pictures yet.
Nearly finished my rear door table today, but I ran out of aluminum for the frame. Looks ok so far.
The other one is my steel roof cage. At 2.2m she was pretty heavy and hard to lift onto the roof. Now it's been cut down to 1.6m with a wind deflector. I can now lift it on and off by myself. 8) I just need to tidy up some of the cuts and give it a coat of enamel.
As soon as both are finished I'll post up some pictures.

Cheers mate, it's all stuff I wanted to do last time but never got around to it. Like others, I need to get a bit done before the GTG.

Picked up an ARB air compressor yesterday, CKMA12. Very nice bit of kit. Looks like a trip to M.A.T.E.S garage for some help with the install.

Think he leaves for another 4 week fishing charter early this week, so you may have to wait for that one....

Just pick them up from ARB at Regency and get M.A.T.E.S Garage to fit them to your rig, I get all my mods and installs done there already!

PS. He likes to get paid with burbons - 10 pack per installation day.
