        • I like the fact you don't have to worry about compressors and the like.

          Nice simple activation.

          Lovely locker.

          • Here is the wiring for the rear LED lights running from the roof rack to the roof gutter on the RH side.

running from the gutter to behind the rear door seal, the wiring is silastic in place

then runs into the rear door wiring loom

this is the switch on the back door to turn on the lights with the prado off, its also wired as reverse lights

            hope this helps you Steve

                • I like the roof rack wiring. I was thinking of doing that for the solar in feed when I fit the rack and solar panels. A permanent wire wont be in the way at all by the looks.

I'm thinking about solar panels as well, as there are brackets that bolt on underneath the roof rack where the solar panel sides out, or get the stand alone solar because you always park the 4wd in the shade.

                        • My solar panel (s) are only used when we go campning. They sit on the roofrack which in turn sits on the factory NS rails. Looking at the install I reckon I will run a permanent cable the same way Derek has and fit an Anderson plug up on the NS rails. Then I only need a short patch cable to connect on the roof. Running down the driver's side works perfectly with the battery install. Saves working out how to protect the cable if I do a temporary run. Time to do some more mods.... And I have enough spare cable and plugs left over.

                          • Fly home tonight, hopefully the dash cam will be at the post office and i can fit it in time for a trip up the Reynolds Track saturday. Then work out how to upload the footage.

                            • the blackvue dash cam was at the post office, set up in the rig was easy, now just need to hard wire it to the 2nd battery. I'll get some photos up later.

                              • Derek just looked at your pics for wiring running out above rear cargo door. Not sure going by picture but where the wiring loom runs down from roof to under rear door rubber did you silicone that up as well ?? Reason I ask is that is the same spot the water on the 120's is getting in (where the two panels are joined together) and then follows the rubber down to the bottom and sits there and starts rusting.. I can see the wire loom goes back in behind the drivers side through the grommet but if the water is coming in from the top I presume it would continue to follow rubber door seal to the bottom ... Cheers Steve
