Ok here goes... You wanted photos?? You got em!!

A few shots of the new rig, all innocent and only 45kms on the clock...

          AT3's

          Davies Creek

          Davies Creek falls

          One of the locals

          First water crossing.. ppfffffffffffft

          Emerald Falls

It was great fun driving out to emerald falls, sideways action most of the way through gooey, thick, red clayish mud. The missus was screaming her head off! 8)

          AT3's held up fantastic

Wash up at the end of the day with 230kms on the clock

It was an awesome first day in the Prado. Looking forward to getting back into it!!

          Cheers,

          Crammy

P.S no jokes about the number plate ok! She's no bloody cow!

Absolutely Fabulous pics Crammy; Some would say, better late then never; but you did take quite some time to get those pics to us. It took so long that I started nibbling at my fingernails in anticipation, and I nearly chewed my arm off.

Congrats on finally receiving the Prado - Enjoy it for all ts worth.

Don't forget the Pradopoint.com sticker now back on offer.

                    Hutch,

Will keep you guys informed, early indications are that they're awesome... There may be a slight hint of road noise but nothing to complain about.

Thanks Chippy, mate I'm happy to share it with you too!

                    Samo,

Said to the missus when she said she wanted one... "We're not bloody buying one if it's never gonna go off road!" Couldn't think of a more fitting way to break in a new Playdo.

                    Gordon,

haha good onya, glad that you appreciate the pics enough to eat your own body parts... Imagine what's gonna be left of you on the 16th of March!

Will have to organise a PP sticker very soon.

Thanks for all the comments, I'll keep the thread updated as the mods go on.

                    Cheers.

Nice action shots Crammy! I'm getting too embarrassed to post here now because since new, I've been blacktop only. And errr aaahhhhh well I sort of did the shopping with it too...... The 4x4 gods do not look on me with much favor right now as I've committed a sin.

                        Nice work Crams.

                            Hey Lawrence,

My missus actually took most of them, she's pretty crafty when taking a snap.

Camera is a Nikon D70, the lens used that day was an AF-S Nikkor (Nikon) 24-120 ED VR.

                            Cheers,

OK, a bit of an update on the Prado as I slowly get all things done to it that I've got planned.

I had an ARB bar fitted a week ago and I fitted an ARB compressor, IPF900XS spotties and a dual battery system last week.

                              ARB bar an IPF's:

Compressor: I ended up making a bracket for it to get it up off the gaurd and away from the hoses and wires. This thing runs that hot you could fry an egg on it!

Battery system: I bought a downunder battery tray as per stich's post on the best dual battery tray. The tray is very well made and fits like a glove. It even comes with a thick rubber mat to mount the battery on. I didn't get to many photo's during the install as I was limited to time.

Sorry about the quality of this pic as it was taken on my phone. I ended using a redarc to control the charging of the second battery. I bought some bits and pieces from Derek at ABR and pieced together this little number. I mounted the tray to the 2 riv nuts already in place on the passenger side.

I went for a Trojan 27TMH 115AH deep cycle battery as my 90AH AGM wouldn't fit. I'm happy that I've gone this way now as the Trojan weighs about 25-27kgs, and the AGM weighed 38-40kgs

I put in 1 "cigar" socket, a hella socket, and a anderson plug in the back.

There's still a few things to tidy up with the wiring, but she's all up and running and running well. Although the charging on the D4D is a bit worrying, it only seems to be charging to about 60% capacity at this stage.

Next on the list will be a lift kit and snorkel. I'll get some more pics up when I get them fitted in a few weeks.

                              Cheers,

                              Crammy

Top job Crammy .. that 's looking really sweet.

I love the fuse holder mount idea ... I reckon I'm about to infringe copyright and blatantly copy your idea

As for the charging bit ... have a read HERE

The D4D ECU limits charging voltage to 13.5

Pre- Feb '07 Redarc units were set to kick in at 13.6 - so it was rare that they would ever kick over and start charging the aux battery ... if at all.

The newer Redarcs have been set to kick in at 13.2 ... and work perfectly.

This diesel / voltage thing is common to 'Cruisers, 'Lux's and Prado's.

Do a double check ... you may well have bought a brand spanking new Redarc that had been on the shelf for a while and is still at the old 13.6 setting.

                                {Just a thought .... hope it helps}

Looking forward to seeing the next bits

                                Cheers
