I was wondering though about that small ding on the rear door, you know the one, right in the middle where the spare used to sit...
At last someone has a mark on their rear door that WASNT caused by me!
Yes every design has its faults, and if SWMBO opens the rear door without first unlocking and swinging the spare out of the way a small dent may result. Fortunately another mod that will be coming to a buildup near you in the future will mean that dent is no longer an issue Once I get the jerry can holder on the other side it will be a lot harder to forget about swinging the carriers first.

Towbar testing hasnt been done yet but it will get done, I decided to keep the original rather than have that tested; as once tested it is just scrap metal. The second bar is underway, just jigging it all up as I go.

I picked up some pinch weld a with rubber seal on its edge whilst in the big smoke the other day, fitted it this morning and pretty happy with the finish. The finish between the bar and the bodywork turned out as good as I possibly could have hoped for

Thanks for all the positive comments guys.

        Cheers Andrew

                  • Hi Andrew, question regards your Ostrich wing awning... does it have zippers to attach extensions or tents to it? If so, do you know if its the same zipper as the Oz Tents?
                    Cheers, Leon

Yes it does have zippers around the outside of the wing, presumably to attach walls. I didn't get any walls or anything to go with it. I couldn't tell you if the zippers match the Oz tents, the zippers around the edge are pretty small as far as tent zippers go, thats about all I can tell you. The zipper for the bag is a YKK zipper and much heavier, the ones around the edge dont have the ring pull so I dont know what brand they are but pressume YKK as well.

Glad you all like the rear bar, not much to go on that, mainly the Jerry can holder which I might get to over the next few weeks.

Been working on some other really cool custom mods that are coming together sensationally, so stay tuned

                          Cheers Andrew

                              • Roof Console

I posted a couple of pics of the start of this quite some time ago, getting a bit closer to finished now.

I have 3 radios mounted in the roof console, the new 80 channel UHF, also put my old 40 channel UHF in. You cant see it in these pics but also mounted the remote head for the Codan HF in the console.

OH and still to attach my Hat Saver to the underside, which is the most important part of this project.

I'll get it fitted and post a few more pics in the next day or 2.

                                Cheers Andrew
