Was a bit worried about the lifestyle rack going over corrigations as the fridge gets up quite a bounce so purchased a set of support legs and they look like they will work a treat.

How far can you angle the seats back with the cargo barrier fitted? We also have a child seat fitted and angle it back a fair way to keep his head from falling forward when he sleeps.

I set the cargo barrier as far foward as the seats would allow. We run two car seats so the rear seat is set at a normal seating position. This is not straight up but just angled slightly back.

There is adjustments with the brackets if you needed to have the rack back further to allow for the angle of the seats.

I've got the Autosafe barrier also and reckon it is a good bit of kit. The ease of install and no drilling required is what sold me also.

Picked up an earth bus today to fit with the power distribution block. Hope to get it fitted tonight to see how it all looks. Need to then determine how to drill? the holes into the inside to fit the merit/cigar power outlets. Not sure what others have used but am looking at using hole saws.

This is the earth bus I purchased.

And this is how it will look once I screw it into place under the distribution block.

Well I got around to getting a mate to give me a hand and we finally fitted and wired up the second battery and distribution block.

The isolator has been in for a while but all neatly wired up now.

With power going to the back a circuit breaker from ABR Sidewinder was installed.

Here is the battery all wired into place. Went a for a battery with twin posts to make the wiring neater.

                To Be Continued.......

Two outlets at this stage. A cigar and a merit.

One distribution block and earth bus neatly out of sight. Pleanty of room for other power requirements when needed.

Since we are going to the GTG it was a good time to get a suspension lift to ensure safe clearance and also I felt the Prado was getting to low to the ground.

Well after much thought and delibiration I decided to go with OME and fitted the following; Front shocks- 90000, Front springs- 2884, Rear shocks- 60004, Rear springs- 2896

It now looks like I have gone from a low rider to a high rider, the lift has raised the vehicle 70mm all round.

                        Originally; FL- 731, FR- 730, RL- 766, RR- 766
                        Now; FL-800, FR- 802, RL- 835, RR- 835

Just goes to show how much it had lost in height over original.

The only issue I have found so far is that it will no longer fit in the garage with the east west bars fitted.

Thanks for that. It was a bit of work but once a template was formed it was a lot easier.

You have some pretty neat ideas there VK. I hadn't looked at your rig build before now, but the way you have done the rear fuse block is great. I am yet to do mine as well (have temporarily got power to the back in a 6B&S cable, but that is way overkill for a 12v socket on its own and I will split it eventually, when I work out future electrical mods for the rear... (basically LED lighting options)

When I bought the power through for the fridge I ran a second set of power cables from the auxiliary battery at the same time to save the future need - I ran these through the chasis rail, and though worth it in the end, it was a fair job to get done.

Will be very keen to compare rigs when we finally catch up...
