Yep the media are a bunch of tools.
I remember when the olympics were here, the was no crime reported in sydney for the duration of the games, all the bad guys must have gone on holidays lol.
There was even a jail break at silverwater jail (near olympic stadium) that they kept as quiet as they could.

I have a couple of mates in Bundy and know the area well. North side was in a bad way they said. Never flooded like that before.

I lived in Bundy for two years after I graduated from Uni, had some flooding as is usual in the region but what I have seen this time is really very scary. A long road back. It really hits hard when you see pictures of shops where the roof is just out of the water and you realise less than a month ago you were drinking coffee in there.

Certainly makes my lack of power for 3 days, a dozen trees down/damaged, removal of trees over the raod and a couple of vehicle rescues pall by comparison.

All the best to anyone having to pick up their lives after this.

My wife and I have just been down to the Civic Centre evacuation area here in Bundy to pick up a heap of clothes to wash for some of the people that are staying there. On the drive down it is just heart breaking to see the damage that has occurred. Fortunately we live where it is high and dry so we are trying to help where we can. One of my family have been doing some cooking etc at different evac centres for the last few days as well. Some of the aerial photos of Bundy are truely amazing.
