          Jungle perch, very common from Cardwell and up the east coast of the Cape. Not sure about about the Western draining rivers of the Cape though. The Iron Ranges fish particularly well (Lockhart River area).

          If you were keen on chasing these plucker, I'd suggest go and have a look at the upper reaches of the Tully. An easy drive from Townsville. My personal best came from there at 42cm. I've also landed some great Sooty and barra out of that river.

            I have caught them in lots of places, Crystal creek about 45 mins North of Townsville has lots.
            I have caught them in a section in the Pascoe River in the Cape. I was just curious where in the Cape you snared that one.

                  worked on that cod for at least an hour, we tries everything to release him, but he wouldnt go down, we even used a release wait, only to see him pop up 30 mts behind the boat. at least we tried, bloody tasty too!!!!!!!!!
