Led Lenser P7 arrived. Geez they don't muck around sending it out to you huh? Arrived in an express post bag. Nice work LED Torches!

Much brighter than my LED'd 3 cell maglite! . A lot brighter. Almost unbelievable for such a small torch running on 4 x AAA's. The different brightness settings are a good move too. That'll make it easier to sneak into bed after posting on Pradopoint late into the night.

    Expensive, but damn good!

Holy smoke, I hope the spots I am seeing from flashing myself pass soon.

That was the low setting :!:

Another convert. My Led Lenser P7 arrived today. The moment it was dark enough (and most of the spots disappeared from my eyes- unreal isn't it, if they say don't look into the beam, what's the first thing we Homers have to do!). I should have read Chippy's last reply, unfortunately there is a trail of stunned possums trying to mate with stunned bandicoots, amid an insane 'Minnie The Wonder Dog (who naturally was a Homer and coundln't resist) barking at the lights now flashing inside her head. All this in my front paddock and no, we didn't have field mushrooms. for tea. I guess it works, but perhaps it should be used 'only in a situation of dire emergency'. I can see the scenario at the campsite when my wife comes back from the midnight pee with the new beaut torch and shines it in my eyes to let me know how wonderful it is. I can remember having a brain scan thingy many years ago and I think I am just recovering from the strobing effect of that (no, it was okay they didn't find one). It must have been the early trials of the Led Lenser P7. To be serious for a fleeting moment, what a torch. It is bloody good to finally get a torch that actually works and is simple to operate. Last decent torch i had was when the dolphin torches first came out. Had a recent one of them and after the first use, it had to be left on the charger permanently in order to get the five minutes light to lock the dog away at night.

              Lenser P7

That P7 puts mine to shame with its 167 lumen output and I wish they had had one there when I bought mine.

Matt there is a guy set up in town square shopping centre (outside IGA) in Singleton who sells all of these Led Lensers and LED upgrades for Maglites, might be worth calling in, he is called Jipak - Sharp Edges Bright Ideas 6571 2669
My first post on PP - have been a big fan for a while (keep up the good work).

I checked out the Lenser P7 with the guy in Town Square Singleton - His price was $104.50 - he would give a 10% discount bringing it back to around $94 - I even showed him the online price ($85) but the said that was the best he could do.

DeeFa ~ the online purchase is hard to beat. The manager followed-up my order with a personal phone call which resulted in an even better deal. As previously indicated, the items arrived within days, as ordered. I have certainly locked the website into my favourites list and can recommend their service based on my experience.

Whats the difference between the P7 & P14 apart from the lumens and length?

Our kids bought me a P7 for Father's Day ... the local possums are threatening to sue them :? Haven't seen one, but from what i've read, the P14 takes larger batteries, hence a bit longer and a bit wider in diameter too. I think the battery life is supposed to be a bit more too. Guess it should offer more of the "thumping" benefits of the maglite than the P7.

And thanks to MickL for bringing the P7 to our attention in the first place.

Just wanted to thank Matt from Ample Outdoors for the impromptu group buy I hastily put together today for the P7 for some of us at my workplace. Looking forward to getting then in the near future. Matt did say that there is a price rise in the very near future so if you are after one then now would be the time to buy I reckon.

My wife ordered a P7 for me on thursday, it arrived monday, so after a quick play with it, it is now put safely away for fathers day.
It turns out that it is quite bright and you really shouldn't look directly into it

                            Hi Guys
Supercheap have a 2D cell, 3Watt torch at the moment for $10 and that includes 2 Energiser D cells. Short to mid distance illumination is great for the price they do not have to the ability to focus the light huge distances though. We grabbed a couple to replace the Dolphins in the car.

Re: Gadget Review, Led Lenser torch

my wife bought a P14 for me as a 5 year anniversary gift back on the 1st of april. all i can say is this thing is wicked crazy. so much light out of such a small unit. it travels everywhere with me. sh!ts all over my 4D maglight that i've had since puberty.

i even had to fight the wife for my torch.

and to be totally fair, i got her a P7 on the 12th of april for her birthday. now she has her own and never needs to touch mine again. she has it in her bag all the time, and i guess if you can't wack a thug with it, you can always turn it on in their eyes. the new capsicum spray. sort of.
