Not sure what you mean. The P7 has an adjustable beam from spot light to wide spread. It also has two power outputs - bright and solar eclipse!Originally posted by Cruisin 120just a quick question for one of you with the p7, what would be the round about length of the beam, being the useable light from it, not the overspill? they look like quite a solid little torch, thanks
This is how it is described on a website: The first lights off the line are the P7 & T7 at 167 lumens 5.5 inches long, has a 1.4 inch head and over a 200 meter effective range. But the really unique feature is the one-handed speed-focus, simply slide the head of the light forward for a tight spot beam or pull back for a broad flood beam

The torch is solid and appears very well built. It comes well packaged with batteries, carry case and carry chord. I've now bought two, one for me and the missus to carry in the car and when camping.ntp

Thanks yeah thats what i was wanting, how far the beam shone in the spot focas, for example could i see something clearly in the light at 50 meters away or 100, not just a bit of light cast here and there in the distance. hope that clarify's it a bit, sorry its sometimes a bit hard to write what your thinking!!08 GXL Diesel Auto,ARB bar/roofrack, ATS liftkit

The torch is very god but I think 200m is fairly optimistic. I tried it out the other night and noted the following. It has no problems lighting up the back fence 30m away with a bright spot about 1.5m wide. Looking further afield I would say it is quite useful to about 75m but beyond that it starts to drop off. I am sure you will see good reflective surfaces well beyond 100m and possibly out to the 200m range but I have yet to try this. The other nice thing about the light is that it is quite a white light. Haven't tested runtime yet, I suspect the useful runtime will be a lot less than that claimed and will depend upon choice of battery.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

I'm a brand new Prado Point member and was reading the post. I just thought I'd let you all know where to save some money if you're planning on getting a LED Lenser.
If anybody is still after a LED Lenser torch, 00.com.au has them quite cheap. Not sure about the bigger ones but I picked up the 10cm one (which is very bright) for $39.95, thats about 55% off the price I saw anywhere else. I've used myne heaps at work and 4wd'ing and the batteries haven't lost any power or gone flat once.
Thanks to this post I'm no longer a PP virgin. Haha. Yay!

All this talk about LED's got me to thinking about the ole 3 D cell Maglite that's been kicking around my cars for years. So I went searching on the net. Found the following LED upgrade from a place called "Kit Bag Military Products" here in Perth
http://www.kitbag.com.au/prod971.htm

Tried it out with batteries well towards 3/4 to 1/2 dead and I must say I was disappointed. Almost better sticking with the old globe. The fair test will of course be with new batteries. Cost $24.95 plus $11.00  for delivery. I'll let you know the new-battery report.
Waiting on the Maglite LED upgrade globe from a website called "Southern Lights and Astronomy." Costs $30.00 from there.
http://www.southern-lights.com.au/

We'll see if that performs any better.
In the meantime, I have ordered a P7. Hi guys been cruising this site for a long time became a member some time ago just have never posted before so hi.
Torches ! I have a thing with torches.I have owned them all at one stage I am sure.
MIL-Tech & Surefire were my pick until just over a year ago.Thats when I got my Inova T4-MP at 175 Lumens pure white light its so bright but the best thing it rechargeable. It comes with a recharging cradle thats easily mounted in the cab.So its always charged ready to go when you need it.My one has not missed a beat in the 1-1/2 years I have owned it and it's built like a tank. They are a bit pricey in Australia but got mine from here.

Quick update. Received the Maglite branded LED globe for the 3 cell torches and I have to say the difference is chalk and cheese compared to the one I got from Kit Bag. The Maglite globe is much brighter. Even with flagging torch batteries the torch still puts out a decent wallop of light with the new LED. Interesting to compare with the P7 when that arrives.# 2007 D4D GX # Full Privacy Tint # Flinders Red # 2 x HID LightForce 240 Blitz # ARB Winch Bar # Alloy Rims # Hilux Washer Jets # Stebel Nautilus Compact Truck Horn # ARB Alloy Roof Rack # ARB Dual Battery System # Charcoal Rough Country Canvas Seat Covers # Suspension:Autocraft Bilstein Shocks/Struts & Ridepro Coils # L.E.D Side Marker Lights # ARB Onboard Air # Pirelli Scorpion LT ATR 265/70's #--Custom 3"exhaust---
