    Re: PradoPoint Site Upgrade

The old look was great, very easy to read and good for eyes. This sucks! :x Too light colours and somehow too wide. Sorry.

I've also changed the cookie setup (so we all may need to log in again). It was set to the temporary name when I carried out the upgrade but it should be fine now.

To decrease the width, try making your browser window narrower. The layout will 'stretch to fit'.

Thought I had been hi-jacked when logging in, but soon found out it was legit  when I saw the b....y ant running around in the screen

Looks nice and clean, much better than all the super fancy screens one sees these days, which, all take longer to loads with the fancy graphics.
Loads much faster at my end than before, so wouldn't change too much as it is a board for gathering and sharing info, not graphics.

i also noticed that i get multiple updates for the same thread as people post where previously it sent out one and that was it until i viewed the thread.

doesn't phase me as i've got a rule putting them off in a side folder but not sure if it's meant to do that!

                    Nice upgrade.

Do not know if everyone has the same problem, but greater definition between post would be nice. This may just be my LCD screen, but I am seeing the first post in light blue, then the next post in a blue of a slightly darker shade.

Other then that, all functions are so far working

Nice work Aaron, site is getting better by the day!

When you get around to the graphics, spare a thought for the favicon It's amazing how many sites have them now, and PradoPoint is noticeable for not having one. I don't think I ever noticed them until I started using firefox...

New site design is great !!
Super clean and easy to load...

Still not the easiest site to view from my blackberry... But hey - anything to take the mind off the stinky train trips home in the avo's.

One huge positive about the site is the overall theme... I can now get away with surfing this site at work !! - Because at a glance - it looks like I am researching some I.T issue on a geek forum !

                        Good stuff guys !! ...

Most of the photos in post's are not displaying. Just a box with a cross in it. Is anyone alse having an issue with this or is it something with my settings?

Otherwise looks OK. Takes a bit to get used to the new look though.

I see the photos fine. This is the first time I've read of this problem with the new site, and you would bet there would be a lot of noise if it was occurring for everyone.

Normally the box with a cross in it is displayed when the link to the photo is broken, e.g. maybe the photo was moved or deleted. But you are seeing a large number of posts show without photos. That leaves me wondering if you have either a strict firewall (blocking access to many photo sites) or a problem with your network bandwidth. Perhaps by the time it gets to download the image the timeout has already gone off, and the red-x is displayed.

Something to try... On a page where the photo is not being displayed, view the page source. (E.g. with IE7: View > Source). Then search for text surrounding the photo so you can pinpoint the URL of the broken image. Plug that URL into the Address bar of your browser. Does that work? If so, then my guess is bandwidth-related issues. If not, then perhaps some firewall filtering is causing you problems.

WOW... just got back from a couple of weeks away and I wasn't expecting that! I thought I must've logged into the wrong forum for a while there

Can't wait to see what the new background will look like once things get sorted with this new version.
