Club 4x4 are good value ... I got a better agreed value plus they added all the accessories bulbar winch draws difflocks etc.. for no extra cost. They also have better distances and area coverage for towing.. aLso the your items like generator fishing geAr etc is covered for theft... give em a call 1800 258 249. ps I have no association with them

the only adverse thing I’ve heArd is that they’ve withdrawn cover if you drowned your vehicle while purposefully attempting to cross a body of water regardless of whether you’ve walked it or not. And that was primarily due too many cowboys being stupid and then exploiting the insurance cover. So they’re on par with all the others in that respect alone albeit they still have better accessories and personal items and recovery terms than the others. But happy to be corrected my renewal is due in december

I'd suggest a search. They have recently attempted to not pay out when clients have had valid impacts with animals. And their T&C certainly have changed and their recovery processes are very dubious.
EG if you get their super duper remote recovery. they tow you to nearest gazetted road and then deposit your car there.. Had this happen to a mate recently. He then had to organise his own tow for the next 300kms to a town where it could be trucked out.

The fact they have tried to do a non payout on a guy that hit a cow, because he supposedly didnt let them know about a windscreen claim his kids had 5 years before on another vehicle was a joke..
Cost them badly on social media and dozens if not more people dumped them..
Worst part was a number of people rang them to get a policy, and declared they had claimed a windscreen or two in the questions they give you, to only be told by C4x4 that windscreens dont count or matter.. Not what they said to old mate above.. (Who they ultimately paid out and put up a ig rant on their website trying to justify their actions as it was costing them huge customer loss..

I wont deal with any company that are that shonky..

I recently made a claim with Club 4x4 and had no issues, the whole process was fairly efficient. It was a straightforward case of a branch fell on the car up in Cape York. They are expensive compared to other companies but I liked the extras you get for remote area travel and the fact they (apparently) cover all the accessories (bullbars, dual battery etc) properly.

                  Per another PP Member
Apparently now their remote recovery is only to the nearest main highway. No hire cars etc.. Worth updating yourself on their T&C.

No longer in your basic cover is personal effects , hire car , towing up to $ 1500 now its to the nearest main hiway .

If you go seriously bush why wouldn't you take out the additional off road recovery?

Because the person in the scenario portrayed below was on a main highway. And a lot of punters think they are covered with Club 4x4 for serious off road. They've neglected to notice the T&C have changed.

Was talking with my insurance company today (CGU). They told me that they'll cover anything that the vehicle was designed to do (river crossings, trails etc.) but won't cover trying to do crazy stuff like drive up a wall. It's a grey area that I'm not exactly thrilled with as it means there's wiggle room for them if anything happens on something that might look nuts to someone who's never been offroad but normal to people who do it all the time.

Another big thing that made me sit up was that they will NOT cover any vehicle fitted with a rooftop tent- I wanted to get one for myself but obviously won't be now- something to keep in mind when making mods to your car as well.
