Hey Derek, were you able to get insurance pay out? Bloody hope so. Over easter this year we drowned our Mitsubishi Outlander on Rainbow beach and it was a very stressful week not knowing whether we were covered but luckily they came through. Neadless to say we now own a prado. Will look forward to seeing your trip report.

Still waiting whether the Prado is a write-off or repairable, my trip report is under the thread Cape York or bust May 2012. Got some photos there as well.

Hi we are leaving Hervey Bay 11th June our 90 series, a Triton,. & meeting an 80 series T from SA in either Cairns or Cooktown . Then hopefully around Cape Melville & up the OT. The only thing that grinds on us is that u have to pre book for all national parks. Be aware fellow travelers that there is a tag along with 30 odd vehicles going up about the same time. we & the Triton are towing camper trailers don't know what the 80s taking.Take care and lookout for each other.

It'd suck to be following them. The distance you'd normally travel in an hour will take 3+ following that group. Their tag along will grow to 40 minimum at any one time with people stuck behind them. They'd be camping on top of each other at two entire camp areas and then some at two creek crossings close to each other. Imagine being caught behind them at the Jardine River ferry haha. Or waiting behind half of them when wanting to grab a burger somewhere and they had the same idea shortly before you haha.

Oh and congrats to Talk the Roo for cracking the tonne!

Live free and roam, There was not much to take a picture of. We got bogged at about 5pm and there was no other cars on the beach as it was big tides over easter so after trying everything in the book we had to walk about 4ks to get to where a mate could come and get us. We came back the next day expecting it to be smashed up but all that had happened after 2 high tides going over the roof was a smashed window and a bit of water inside.
