Yes - why not hi jack it you bunch of smart arses

I'm not necessarily looking for anything overly hard, just off the beaten track and some good touring. We did flinders in June (southern flinders anyway) so lookin for something a little different.

Anyone know what the old mail route from Morgan to mildura is like?

We need to be concious that scaredy cat MLC is probably coming, so not lookin for anything overly difficult
    Diesel Prado with various things...

Haven't driven the entire route only parts, around Calperum (near Renmark) it goes through private property with locked gates, so you need to know someone who knows someone to get in. From Paringa heading East it is just a half reasonable dirt road, unless it rains, then it looks like this.

I have considered Goog's Track, and the wife is keen, but that would be a week and a half trip. I would leave Friday of the long weekend and go straight to Googs, do that for three days, then I would go to Lake eyre and Haligan bay, then down along the Oodnadatta Track, through to Lyndhurst, then up along Strezlecki track, take the PAR through the flinders, and come back down from there to Adelaide. Would be a hell of a trip this one...
        Ian,

As discussed, you know Jo has been putting in those extra hours and has flexi up her sleeve, the boys would learn more in that one week, than a term in school.....

Man up and ask her for the week before the long weekend

I had the same thoughts about heading out for the long weekend, so I've been watching this thread.
Unfortunately, I don't think my lift will be installed in time so it looks like just a trip over to Yorkes for some beach fishing.
Not too bad I suppose but still, D'oh!

The long weekend is the start of the school holidays, so i don't think DECS would mind if nobody turns up on Tuesday 4th, Wednesday 5th...
Our 6 year old and 3 year old try their hardest to make sure there is no time or money for the other baby

Unfortunately, its the week before the LWE that Dave is wanting to do googs. We will just do it after, when he has to stay home to work on his 'to do' list..

Yeah I know, but I don't want to play again until I get rid of the 'standard' look.
