Wow. What an action packed day. I think everyone was recovered at least once except don1 and 02 prado/ td.
I became bogged in a mud patch that I didn't realize was so deep. Lucky was Russel was in a position to snatch me out in his GU, but not before Lyfe posed for a photo in front my bogged 80. Then Lyfe tried the same mud bog and used his lockers and 35's to dig himself up to his diffs. So after I posed for some photos in front of Lyfe's car I towed him out in my wittle wandcruiser.

I also attempted and gave up on climbing moon rock.

Yeah Steve, it didn't take long. I also took out one of the mud flaps, popped a flare off and put a nice crease in the soft plastic rear bumper.Originally posted by Steve M View PostLooks like Declan you have already given the passengers side step a bit of a slight lift in the middle lol. Thanks Spitfire' I am contemplating a little work for spook at the moment, My Brother in law has his 1993-4 SWB JX, 2 in body lift and 31's up for grabs at present car has a large list of mods though not all offroad oriented, its up for $5000 which would be a lot of bread to throw at my LWB, im not a fan of the calmini shocks that come in the standard kit and the springs can be very firm to but after yesterdays exhaust modifications (now sounds like a silenced single prop Cessn) I think I will first repair/replace the tyre
and also resolve the bent Catalytic converter issue. Nice looking rig that you posted though. I will just see where the monmey takes me for now.

We were following the power lines heading south towards Bungleboori when we decided to call it a day and head back to Black Fellows track on one of the tracks linking the power lines to Black Fellows.Originally posted by GH4wd View PostLooks like a good day out Declan; where did you & Lyfe get bogged?
The bog had the same outward appearance of many other mud patches that we had been through earlier in the day so I didn't think i would have any trouble with it.
I chose not make it difficult for the recovery vehicle so when I lost all forward drive I stopped and waited for Russ to tug me out. Lyfe in the other hand refused to admit defeat until he had buried the 35's to above the rims and was sitting on his diffs. It took an very solid pull by the 80 to shift the Patrol and it managed to stall the 4.5.
How the hell you stall a 4.5 straight 6 with an automatic transmission is beyond me but its a testament to how bad Lyfe was stuck.Declan: 1997 GXL 4.5 Auto 80 series on LPG, ARB bullbar, 2" OME lift, 32" MTZ, GME UHF, rear ARB locker, Kaymar spare wheel carrier

It looks like I missed the best part of the day.
I wonder if my new muddies would’ve got me through that bog hole?
Sorry for the lack of footage. Most of it is of my kids collecting rocks, dirt, mud and pine cones.Anthony:
