Nice. Look at all that empty space! I'm pretty confident my kids will slip into little cocoon shaped holes in the back. Definitely lucky to be on the road already. What route are you taking across?

      • Looks like we will be skipping CREB Track and Lakefield National Park due to closures. BUGGER!!!

        • You guys have a great time, I'm still pissed that I couldn't come.
In the Next to weeks I will still have a job, or hopefully a new one still don't know .

Tiny and all you guys have done a great job to keep organising this trip and I will be hanging to see the photos and trip report .

          • I have been told by previous Cape runners that when the Creb track is closed you can still access the scenic parts of the track from the northern end by driving down to where the actual closure gates are and there is a road leading from that point which takes you to some scenic areas.. they say its worth the run and it still allows you to experience a good portion of the Creb ??
in any case im sure we'll be treated by plenty of other amazing sites!!
Not long to go now, car is all but ready and will be packed by Thursday for a Saturday departure although we wont be looking as free with space as Dane! probably looking more like the Clampetts from Beverly hill billies with everything crammed in and tied on top!!

              Ok, how about this one?

Another night in Broome tonight, then cruise east to be in Townsville tomorrow week for six new mudders.

              Have fun at work!

I remember this spot well from when we visited a few years ago.

The colours in the rock is amazing and makes for sensational photos at sunset.

Did you get to ride a Camel on Cable beach?

Also, please respond to my PM if you get a chance. Ta, Dan

                • Just got given this link from ARB in Cairns.

                  http://www.cook.qld.gov.au/current-road-status

We might have to sit down Tuesday night in Cairns and re-think a bit of the itinerary since it's so wet up there.

                  • Yeah some adjustments for sure Tiny, but that won't hinder our trip too much I'm sure.

Half a day at work tomorrow for me then a few last minute purchases.

I'm really looking forward to hitting the road on Saturday, a whole month off work!!

I won't want to go back!!

You're doing well! It's 9 at night and I don't expect to leave work for another hour tonight with similar nights the next few days. I fully expect to spend all night friday night chucking stuff in the back seat and start cleaning it up and storing it appropriately each night when we stop so there'll actually be room for the family when I pick them up in Cairns. Definitely not as prepared as I would have liked.

Then again, not being fully packed certainly won't stop me, definitely looking forward hitting the road again.

                      • One thing I don't have but will get if needed is HD Jumper Cables.

Is anyone else taking some( so I don't need to buy some)?

Not planning on jumper cables but I am going to throw my battery pack in Dad's ute if it will fit which can jump start cars, mainly in case anyone accidentally leaves their uhf radio on overnight (wouldn't be a first for me). It should do the job if you don't want to go out and buy some.

Dunno if you'd call them hd, but I have a set on board
