I'll second that! Especially with all the roadworks!

Agreed, the great western, through the mountains, should be avoided at the best of times, but even more so during bad weather and when Bells line is inaccessible.

I don't care where we go, but I need something to test the new toy with

          • Could explore Jellore SF more. Declan knows the powerline climb, but there's another section there I've been down, it had a a hardcore* climb and a great view at the end. There's more tracks in there but of course it doesn't compare to the likes of Newnes.

            * Featuing a mild incline of rock steps, with steep drop offs on the side. Mine failed the harder section with dual lockers (and I tried a couple times), whilst the easier line was ok... for mine.

              • I'm keen to give it a go.
Not sure how my 80 will handle it with no lockers and the dodgy cooper ATRs. They are starting to fall apart.

I should have a rear locker installed by the end of the month followed by a decent set of tyres.

As much as I'd love to test the locker, I'd rather wait a little longer than brave the traffic on the great western hwy. We'll see how it pans out today.

It has been decided, we're going south to Jellore S/F, a trip report will be up soon.
Unless someone knows a good spot on the highway, I think we can just meet in Mittagong.

                              • Is there any interest in a trip this Sunday (11th)? I was thinking of just exploring some of the usual spots around Newnes.

I'm not after anything too hard core yet, I'm still adjusting to the increased dimensions of the 80 series (see the Jellore S/F trip report for more details )
