Meet Sunday 10:00am in Dungog, at the intersection of Scott Ave, Wangat Rd and Hooke st (it's a petrol station). From there we'll head up Chichester Dam Rd into the Telegherry River part of the forest.

Well, it was just Glen & I (plus passengers)- we could have done with the winch Phil!
It was wet and muddy and we got stuck for about 2 hours- lucky Glen had the hand winch! We were going up a steep incline and ran into a traffic jam, we slid backwards, then I backed off to the side- BIG MISTAKE!!!
Anyway, with Glen's help we got out and called it a day- next time we head up there, we'll make sure it's dry!

Hey Brad, sounds like an interesting day. Were the leeches friendly? Managed to find plenty of them everytime we have been up that way.
Would love to have attended but the Aus Day BBQ and Hottest 100 party went rather late and the mates wife (Chauffeur) ran out of diesel turning her car around. She learnt a good lesson, even though the car said it had fuel for 30km, a good hill can reduce that. Anyway the NRMA arrived after about an hour with some diesel and all good from there, home at 1am.

Interestingly, we didn't get any leaches on anyone in our car. Can't say the same about Glen and his passenger though! I'm glad I wore jeans and boots!Cheers, Brad

Yeah, I collected plenty of leeches, 4 of which took hold of me. One even decided to take hold between my fingers... I only found him when I washed my muddy hands after all the winching and recoveries.
That hill was in much better condition compared to previous times. Usually it's full of ruts, this time it was completely smooth. However, with the rain it was quite slippery, and terribly boggy on the edges (I where I got temporarily bogged as well). The vehicles ahead of us also had troubles, and winched several times each.
For me, the moment I will never forget is stopping half way up on a water bar (due to traffic ahead), jumping out of the car... and behind I see you driving up, stopping behind me, and then sliding back down the hill with the brakes locked up ...
