Harvey is approx 140 Km from Perth, on the South West Hwy, between Pinjarra and Bunbury. The playgound Jeff visited is up in the foothills to the East of the townsite and the highway. There's a heap of logging roads and tracks running through the entire length of the scarp.

The last trip I did, through there, was a nice easy day trip and picnic down through Mandurah to Preston Beach. Then inland to Harvey and up into the hills, then north through the maze of roads and tracks, to Dwellingup before heading home. But then, living in Warnbro, all of this is right in my backyard.

    Cheers

Well I've just read all the posts and veiw all the pics, Fantastic!!
This trip is the benchmark for the guys in the East of West Australia to beat.Eight Prados ,1 Cruiser out for a play with kids and dogs in back.
Chippy, Great web work ,you are the GURU (like the new avatar 119 shots).
Justo ,Great to watch you at work behind the pilots seat of that jet. With all those controls at your finger tips no wonder you can fly.
Leachy,I want your engine and Diff Locks.Hows the tire? Its great to see you and Justo challenge each outher to a deul in the sand.I wonder if this competition will carry though to the next outing in August?
Jeff whom I have now met, great to see you working hard on that manual shifter .It looks like the petrols have a slight advantage climbing hills than us diesels.(Excluding D4D  ) But at least our fuel bill would of been cheaper. :P
Fishnuts ,You did very well for your first outing, now you know what it is all about.Don't worry about those petrols, Diesels may be slower but we get there in the end, well some of us did and some are still trying.
The photos were the best yet , Toyota could sponsor our next event with FREE CAR WASHES as South of the river is a bit Muddy compared to North.
      Thanks again

        Hey Russ

Hope ya don't mind but I've been playing around with peeling bits of video out of youtube and converting them to animated gifs. They make great little avatars but are a little large in the file size Patience is a virtue here - they may take a little while to load. Apologies to the guys on dial-up ops:

... and, as with any animated GIF that loads slow or annoys you - hit ESC and it will stop.

        I couldn't find any Russ's Rocket video
so I put together a Water Ballet Tribute to
        Russ Productions ...

This one is all class. Standing out in a Maroon
Prado and nailing this huge hill climb is ... Fishnuts ...

Jeff had to battle some lead-foot yahoos in VVTi Autos ...
but oozed experience and made driving a cogswapper
        look easy ...

... and Leachy put that locked D4D through it's paces
        over and over again ...

        Enjoy.

        Cheers
        Chippy

That is a whole new level of editing that would be very time consuming .

Top effert with all those avatars and gifs and thingamies.

I will love to lead a trip through harvey.
But I would like a bit af a dry spell before the clay/ mud tracks.

With the lack of true mud tyres and being all relatively new cars I would hate to be responsible for damage.

Those tracks would be a lot easier with out a fresh downpour.
So you could use the high parts of the track instead of scraping through the ruts. When those tracks get wet you cant stay on the high, too slippery , and you will fall into the ruts with a thud.

But as you said chippy. The timms thickett to lake preston the out to dwellingup could be used.
Possibly as a back up to bad weather.

Im too disorganised with work and home to plan anything at this stage though.

            jeff.
Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

I agree with Jeff on the mud bits behind Harvey. Mud is fun but heavily rutted, muddy tracks can cause quite a bit of sliding into trees and other immovable obstacles which equals damage.

More than happy to plan something around October - I'm likely to be a bit busy until then

... but I will be dropping into Pradopoint occasionally and I expect to see pics.

                Cheers

                  Nice work Chippy! Thanks.

Oh, and enjoy your last week

We are ready to go bush again, so whenever there is a consensus - we are on. And if I need to organise something, then count me in for that too.
