When you've got it out:
[Easy way] run a tap through the hole. Then put the replacement bolt in lightly.
[Hard way] Undo the radiator bolts and swing the radiator out of the way, run a tap from the top of the cross member, then insert longer bolt from the top of the cross member and use a nut at the bottom to hold the bashplate.

Used a Breaker-Bar for the reach, didn't felt till it snapped. As amts suggested probably it's cross threaded.Originally posted by blackvx View Postdamn, you managed to bust a high tensile bolt...thats a good effort.
Thanks !! I might drop down to Bunnings at some point.Originally posted by blackvx View PostI got a bolt out of that same hole with an easy out before. check my thread here http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...-on-bash-plate

Guest repliedThos are high tensile bolts. Sure it wasn't cross-threaded?Originally posted by Shan View PostSome how been me!! I managed to break one of the bolts by over killing it !!
It could be tricky to get the bolt out.. so I hope 3 bolts at front would do the job till I manage to fix the other
Have a search on easy-outs. Should be right with the 3 bolts.

Yes its silver, colour coded and yes, Ive just measured it as well and our original calcs were correct!!!
SFA !
Maybe 1-2mm...............maybe not!
Actually, not really colour coded, just the closest powder coat shade I think.
Bit of an experiment really.Last edited by 1coolbanana; 14-12-2011, 05:59 PM.

I ended up sacrificing my queue position for a 120 bash plate, after I reconditioned them as I get the car ready for sale. Put me in the queue for the 150 version please. Is anyone else in the 150 queue? He asks... looking around nervously
