Hi, my 2011 Prado lights do work the same as you guys. If I leave them on and turn off the ignition then they switch off which is a definite battery saver....

Already convinced that HID are a non-starter. Will look into replacing halogen bulbs with improved ones from Philips, Narva or even Osram as suggested....
