Would love if someone can help me out with these measurements please?
I doubt anyone will have what you want as generally the measurements are made and cut without recording them.

The easiest thing for you to do is get a square sheet of cardboard that will fit flat on the floor. Push this hard against the back of the second row seats and as far left as you can get it and hold it in place. Now get a short length of wood to act as a spacer (anything will do, I only say wood as you are likely to have an off-cut lying around) and a marker pen. Place the wood against the side of the rear space and mark the cardboard - do this all down the side and your cardboard will have the same shape as the side. Cut along the line you have just marked and this will be your template. Now repeat the process for the right side (the two sides are different). Get the wood sheet and transfer the templates onto this. you will have to take a measurement across the whole width of the rear compartment to ensure you get the templates in the correct place on your wood sheet. Now cut the sheet and it should drop neatly into place.

The only thing I would add to this, is remember to allow for the rear seats to recline slightly, as you (passengers) won't want them to be vertical.

Normally I would agree with you Tim but myminirocks isn't building drawers:

        • Anyone on Brisbane northside got a genuine Toyota rear rubber mat with the holes for the rear seats? Would love to borrow it for about 3mins to trace an outline?

                    • I think you've motivated me to make my own set now. I've got ambitious designs in my head of trying to make one of the drawers into a kitchen, drifta style. I notice nobody seems to have tried it though. The closest was the Roo who put some little drawers for cutlery and plates in his. I'm a tad worried that I'm being too ambitious but if you aim high, it's that much more spectacular to watch when it fails.

I'll post my progress and see if I can have them done in time for the birdsville trip.

                      • Just going through putting a set in our GX - but I cheated a bit by buying a second hand set that I can modify to fit.
Hopefully won't need to do to much work to them - they fit OK for the drive home, just got to trim the wings and possibly shorten a smidge to get a bit more clearance for rear fold-up shelf when I install it

Clever...the simple things. I was wondering the best way to make a template and I've got one sitting there already. If it was any more obvious it'd knock me over! :-)

                            • Apologies if this has been discussed earlier in the thread, haven't ploughed through all 65 pages.

A phone call to Main roads informed me that to remove the rear seats on a permanent basis (they said anything more than24 hours) would require a compliance plate on the car, taking it from a seven seater down to a five. Not doing so would mean that insurance etc would be null and void in the event of a claim. Anyone else had this?

                              • Why do we have removable seats then . That's like saying we shouldn't fold them up .
