Darrens tube bar was excellent, strong and very protective of the crummy plastic rear bumper. Pity the market gardener that collected me didn't agree.

If you wanted to run tyre carriers on it I think it would have had issues but who knows, when he puts his, head to somerhing he designs good stuff.

He was actually going to rebuild it for me but then he moved premises and it all got lost in the process.

Couple of light years. When I have some time from my normal work, 4 kids, photography, sending off bashplates, I'll have a better look. The pic is for a BT50 rear bar. Waiting on the other party to select the trailer hubs, lights, etc before going further.

Looking at doing a tube bar for a Patrol as well. This is what happens when people at work find out your skills with CAD.

amts is not designing the plates, he is waiting on their manufacture. I am concerned his brilliant engineering mind may go mushy if he doesn't apply his skills proactively.

I believe AMTS should prioritise this rear bar. If he doesn't get moving on the fabrication and design, I vote that he get barred from the forum. Nudge, nudge....

Actually, I just measured up the 150 for bashplates over the weekend. So its not like I'm twiddling my thumbs or analysing the colour of the fluff on my navel.

As for the rear bar, I've just read ADR62/02 and AS4177.1. The tow bar would require testing to get ADR approval and part of the testing involves static and dynamic loads. Looking at the dynamic test, it requires a sinusoidal test of not more than 35Hz for not less than 2x10^6 cycles. This equates to nearly 40 days of non-stop dynamic testing !! I can see the "too hard basket" out of the corner of my eye.

Shall i just give that basket a kick for you so it lands under your nose?

Why are you measuring up a 150?

amts, please, priorities! It's 120 or nothing. The 150 oweners are still working out how to fit the second fuel tank, let alone bash plates. lol

PS so what was the fluff colour? Im betting greyish....
