Samo I did the same thing. Was going to post photos but totally forgot however I've done what you've done and it works great!!! So much easier than replacing it which I'm sure being a Toyota I might as well have bent over lol

$150, I doubt it. they were going to charge my mate $600 for one single rear centre headrest for his VX velour trim not leather even, till I told him where its stashed...........Cheers Steve

Steve what do you mean stashed? I don't have any on my rear seats either are they hidden somewhere that I don't know about ha ha 😊

My mate couldnt find his centre one, it was stashed behind the zipper on the back of the seats right up the very rear, the ones that fold up against the side rear quarter windows. The one on the drivers side has the zipper......Cheers steve

what i ment wayt2go was use some liquid nails to glue the sunroof shut so it fixes the rattle, (lame attempt of humor).

That was what I thought you might have meant.

Guess I was hoping that you actually meant there was another tried and tested fix that I hadn't heard of (that would still allow the sunroof to operate).

Been plenty of forums on this issue, but my 120 has a shocking rattle/squeek from the rear door, especially when going slow which occurs climbing through the bush, funnily enough it disappears when the rear tyre is off, but figure I best not do without this accessory. Tried everything from removing jacks, tools, the rubber grommets that the door stops on, tyre spacers all to no avail. Get conditioned too it until my missus reminds me again. Bloody annoying.

I found that just greasing up the hinges and where the rear door closes fixed the issues that I had which sounds very similar to what you are describing. Even some WD 40 or INOX does the job for a couple of weeks, but in the end grease is the best option.

Had a BAD high frquency rattle / noise in dash area near radio. Sounded like a relay with bad connection. Drove me crazy all the way from Vic to Qld. Started to rip the dash trims out to access behind radio, then noticed the cables I disconnected from in-car mobile phone set located at foot level. Taped up nut section on aerial cable and replaced trims etc, went for a drive and noise gone.
Very surprised as to the sound appearing from radio area 2/3 rd metre away. Wife reconned it came from radio as well.
Glad I found it that easily as I was about to remove dash trims with a 4 lb lump hammer..........

UPdate......... damn noise returned. Dismantled the dash and removed radio twice and noise still there intermittantly. At least I am good at removing the dash trims quickly now.
Was part way through removing it all AGAIN, when I noticed the toll sender hidden behind the mirror. Tapped it a few times and noise sounded familiar. Damned thing would move accasionally after hitting a hole etc start up again. Used some of that felt tape and packed it tightly....... It aint going to rattle again, or next time out the window...
Hasnt vibrated for 6 days now so fingers crossed it is gone this time.

LOLOLOL John, I love stories like that. I hate friggin rattles, if I know where there coming from not as bad but still annoy the crappers out of me .......the things we whinge about lol.....Cheers Steve

I've got this annoying creak in what seems like thr drivers side front wheel arch. Sounds like I dropped a nut somewhere when installing the 2nd battery tray.

Just on rattles, I did a short stint working at Holden on the Monaro line. When we had a US car come through, occaisionally we would put a few scraps of small metal shards in the inner rear guard, below the fuel filler. Now that's a rattle that would surely drive you crazy.

My drivers door moves over bumps and I get an annoying sound from around the seals. Toyoyta said they can't adjust doors on a 150.

I had a rattle which originated from the overhead drop-down sunglasses holder. On a recent outback trip, the rattle would appear every time I drove on gravel or blacksoil and it was just infuriating. (I have a very low tolerance to rattles and squeaks )

I finally pulled down the holder, stuffed a decent chunk of carwash sponge into the cavity and pushed the holder back in place.

No more rattle, and me happy. Paul
