    HI All,
    What a shite fight I started;
Firstly I raised the issue as the posts that Rick was putting up seemed 'fairly sales-ie' in that it would pop-up randomly, exactly the same across many threads. Rick and I have sorted it out publicly, the offer is still listed, and in my opinion, a fair and measured outcome has come about (Ricks not been banned or posts deleted because we all agreed that I was wrong). So no harm nor foul, and the question was originally raised behind the scenes for this reason.
As I stated, I think competition is a good thing, so if it looked like I was trying to stop him selling here (which is illegal practice in its own right) i apologise, its not the case. I thought he was making $$$ out of it, and therefore, he should abide by the rules + sponsor the forum i.e. to support this community. Its all in the RULES> If some of you now wont purchase of our company, that's a sad thing, and in my opinion, you are missing out. (oh, and sorry for trying to keep jobs in Australia too).
Our injectors are Re-manufactured, and I believe that this statement is different to Re-co'd but accept that not everyone has the same feelings that we do. Ultimately, with exception of the body (which is re-ground) and the coil, there is stuff all else left in there from when it gets here. Because 90% of the internal components are changed- we called it reman, not reconditioned which to me, implies only fixing what needs to be fixed, rather than simply replacing everything (making new again - re-man).
At the end of the day, its a hair splitting situation, and I really don't mind how you see it. The warranty is there to speak for itself to this end. We are that confident that our quality is better, that's why we do it.

    And Roo,
My understanding, and I'll have to double check this, is that codes starting with 13 are for 1KD euro 4 engines, and codes stating with 11 are Euro3, and I don't believe that they cross over (even though there's less than 5% fuel flow variation)...

As I stated, I never wanted to start any issues with the community at large and this was the reason that it was raised behind the scenes. It has been sorted out in a format that everyone is happy with, so personally, I really don't see why theres such a problem... Anyway, feel free to PM me on this if you do, i'll be happy to explain my thought process, but lets get this back on track.

    Have a good week
    Matt

So, considering the proper procedure as on GISC, they should be changed out anyway, at 80,000 km service.
The injectors are a high wear component, and they will have to be changed out, really, at around the 130,000 km interval mark. This is providing that the feedback values are all good to this point. So, in goes a new set of seats anyway, is my point.
      John.

I agree 100% with your Roo on this - Many engine's were lost here too due to seat failure
I have seen clear pick up screens become over 50% blocked between services

Nature of these 1KD's has put us on a path of over preventitive matainence
40-45k is as long as I'll leave seats in for - any customer no wanting to pay for seats at this mileage - does so at there own risk
The new seats appear so far to fine, with no signs of any leakage at 45k. We do a feedback check first then if ok do a seat change and valve clearance check
if feedback values out of spec - then in go a set of new 316's
Im not prepared to risk it on my own car doing anymore k's than 45k between seats , same applies for any 1KD that comes into the shop I work at

Rick do you pull the injectors for the valve clearance check?

          - You dont have to, with the right feeler blades you can check leaving injectors in place.
I think is was only luck for TMC that proceedure says remove injectors - which just so happened to have covered there butts, with the seat issue

If your that far disasssmebled - might as well hook the injectors out and fit new seats while your there

                  Hi All,
I have recently gone through this whole injector debacle and can share some personal experience of my own.

                  1) Stay clear of Injector Express. He trades on eBay, plus has a web site selling injectors. He does not return calls, thinks he knows what he is talking about (on email only) and then after shipping incorrect parts refuses to believe you that they are wrong and refuses to refund. I have just been through a 4 week battle with him and just resolved it via Paypal. Of important note, the injectors he ships start with a 32 code and the solenoid is 180degrees rotated so won't fit the harness without relocating the wires, which is just wrong. He also hides behind email and won't return calls. For anyone who may know, he uses the name Alexandria Hardman on his ebay account (which is either fictitious or his girlfriend) but on closer investigation his businesses and website are registered to Timothy Marshall Cochrane in Brendale Area Qld. This is all public information available on ASIC and Whois.com. I have been in contact with other ebay buyers who have been caught by these injectors and have even installed them and had to be towed then have them replaced by Toyota. So everyone BE WARNED.

                  2) I need to give Baileys Diesel a big wrap here. When the problem was discovered after stripping down the motor late on a Friday afternoon, we were desperate to get a resolution rather than rebuild the engine and start again another day. The team at Baileys Diesel were fantastic, and between 4:45 and 5:05pm on a Friday afternoon, they mobilised their team to get me a set on a courier that evening. No extra shipping charges above normal and extremely helpful. Well done Baileys Diesel and to your 2 ladies on the phone who provided such a great service and were so willing to help. On top of this, When I returned the old injectors, the refund was on my credit card the next day after I shipped them. Good price, exceptional service and the car runs great.

3). Final note to Talk the Roo who did the hard work in fitting all this for me plus a heap more service work at the same time. I now know a lot more about my Prado and many of the problems of the world and how to fix them both :-) He was always a pleasure to work with. The world needs more people like you who want to impart knowledge and help people out (and actually know what their talking about).

So thanks to the good guys in this story.

Injectors Express can get stuffed :-)

                  Regards
                  Ross

I have just received my Injector Kit from RickNZ, ready to be replaced by my local mechanic tomorrow. I had the "cold start test" done at the 130,000km service Friday before last. The result was #2 - maxed out, #4 - 3.9, #1 and #2 were within spec. I haven't had any of the symptoms that many have had here but I was keeping an eye on it by having it checked at the services. I also change oil and filter myself at the in between 5000km mark. I have been getting the local Toyota Dealer to check the screen and cold test over the last couple of services.

I contacted John (##########) and he was fantastic to talk to. Thanks John. I contacted Rick (RickNZ) and again could not be more helpful. These two guys are the greatest. I could not be more grateful the information and assistance that this forum provides.

                        Regards

Once again the courier service was exactly 3 working days - fairly impressive from NZ to Bathurst! for $40Au

The last few pages of this thread have shown that PP members have two decent choices for injectors open to them
with Fast service and quality parts that are far better priced than you can buy from Toyota Australia

Just picked up my car from the mechanic. I have only driven it for a few kilometres but the improved throttle response is amazing. I didn't realise how much I was compensating for the poor lowdown response from the worn out injectors. I am looking forward to driving it whilst towing my caravan. Now the damage- about $1900AU for the injectors, pipes, seals and shields delivered to my door and about $500 for my mechanic to remove and replace the injectors and pipes etc and to clean the EGR and intake manifolds. The EGR was well blocked up and took a bit of work to clean.

So around $2400 to get the job done the way I wanted.
The local Toyota dealer wanted $4700, no new pipes or intake/EGR cleaning.
The diesel experts estimated about $6000 to do it right.

I reckon I did all right.

                            Regards

Looking at those other prices you have done extremely well Garry
Toyota Oz isnt even in the ball park , and you got the same 316 DLC injectors that they would have supplied (and also got pipes and extra work) for near on half the price.

I hadnt realised just how much Toyota Oz was ripping their customers off - WOW

Toyota seem to sting on labour. I was quoted 6 hours. 3 hours is what most diesel places are quoting for an injector and pipe replacement including compensation code programming. Sump screen check and subsequent oil change are on top.
