I actually didn't do anything to the brakes. My wheel bearing was so bad it put the brake rotor out of alignment with the caliper so the pads couldn't get a proper grip on it.

    I do similar.

I have a theory some extra sealant may help keep water out.

Time will tell. Lots of time. But nothing to loose.
why not lol. If it helps it helps

if they were together, how did you fit the bolts ??[/QUOTE]

had to assemble it because Toyota unfortunately doesn't sell complete assemblies dammit.

I was hoping no one noticed the missing bolts. I put it together and forgot about the bolts. Didn't know what to do so I gave it to pedders and they put some new bolts in.

Car drives like new again and doesn't make any clanging and grinding noises anymore plus it fixed my soft brake pedal too which we thought were a failed brake master cylinder. Saved me an odd $400 probably

    Thanks #### for the parts.
    Sometimes you can be unlucky.

Changed the first (under car) fuel filter, I replaced the M4 retaining bolt with something longer. Much easier to replace.

Bled the brakes because the pedal is feeling very spongy and going to the floor lately. It's a bit better but still pretty bad. Told it's a bad master cylinder... Now I gotta get a new master cylinder

    Cabin filter

I took the cabin air filter out and gave it a clean. (It is located behind the glovebox) It had half a dozen leaves and a lot of dust on it. I think there is better flow out the a/c ducts now.
