  • Just installed the eBay Hilux washer jets. One of them gives a nice spray and the other is not so nice but still pretty good. Downsides are that it takes like 2-3 seconds of holding the stalk THEN it sprays water everywhere, and when it does, it wets the area around the washer jets. After spraying for a while, there was a lot of washer fluid dripping from the bottom of the car..

Took a while to figure out how to get the Prado ones off. Used a flathead screwdriver with a rag around it, pushed the front of the jets back towards the front of the car, it tilts upwards, kept a finger where it's up, did the same thing for the other end, pulled it out and simply remove and replace. No paint damage.

noticed after driving a bit now, the passenger side one (one that had the crappier stray) was actually bubbling washer fluids everywhere! O.o

      • No need for screw driver 007, some thing a lot thinner is better with out the risk of paint or panel damage. I used one of my old plastic scrapers from pastry cook days and slid it under the front of the jet. If you decide to replace the dodgy one next time round..... Could use a bit of plastic even from an ice cream container base.... Cheers Steve

yeah.. I didn't have anything else with me when I did that and the best thing I could get was the screwdriver. Luckily no paint and/or panel damage done to the car. Pretty easy to do. No need to even remove the bonnet clips let alone pop the hood open unless you wanna check it.

And call me by Wtr thanks Steve

If it can not be fixed with a "Cable Tie" then it just can not be fixed!

On Andrew's advice, My tool kits contains 1. Duct Tape and 2. WD40.

Are you telling me there is a third 'tool' I need to carry around with me Troy??

                • When we picked up the second hand canopy for the Colorado ute the donor vehicle didn't have a tub liner so all the frame holes were about 5mm out. The canopy is an ARB one and the mounting system is superb but the last few holes are drilled specifically to match the canopy and tub. So rather than redo the whole thing in the rain I just grabbed four nice heavy duty cable ties and voila canopy fitted. Drove around the coast for the weekend and then home on the highway. All good. Using bolts now though...

Essential tools (in no particular order):

                  Cable ties
Duct tape (aka hull repair, it is better not to ask)
                  WD40
Big hammer (if in doubt give it a clout, the bigger the doubt the bigger the clout, if it breaks then it needed replacing anyway!)

                  • @Foxclan @120D4D if it can't be fixed with cable tie, start using duct tape. If still not fixed, MOAR DUCT TAPE

                        • Worried about how much it weighs now took it to a weigh bridge. With full fuel and me and my daughter on board with all of the drawers full of 'gear' it weighed 2700 kgs. It has a dual battery system, fridge and drop-down fridge slide, sovereign bar etc. Now with my wife on board (65kgs) and say our normal 'carry on luggage (50kgs) only leaves me 100kgs for the tow ball weight. Don't like my luck to keep the GVW below 2900kgs. Expect it could get up close to 3000kgs.

                          Should I be worried?

                            • OGF did you get a front rear split? I weighed my 120. No bodies and mostly full of fuel and got to 2.6t but the split was ok with front axle loading under the maximum (no winch or wench) so I just forgot about it after that.
