I think for this example the frail Grande has been loaded up with to many accessories...

The best fix Rob is for me to come round and lighten your load by ripping out the draws and cargo barrier.

What the hell, I'll take the fridge too seeing as though I read you're getting another one!
      Cheers

      • Went for a drive in it. Noticing quite a bit of vibration in the brake pedal and steering wheel as I brake. Might be time to change them

          • Probably the fact that your airbags are welded in place has contributed to the issue mlc. Being welded, they are unable to pivot when flexing causing stress on the base.

Welds can be cut, how do you retain yours?. While AJ is under there avoiding a jail sentence I may get him to change the setup. The things I do to rehabilitate criminals.....

              • Mate I've got the Airbagman taller airbags that are no longer retained. Previously I had an R-Pin through my originals which worked well. Talk to that other Andrew about his Airbag spacer. http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...l=1#post366491

                  • Removed my first set of Rotors today, 3 hours later ... Easy for most of you old bloke's :P but iv'e got to start somewhere.

Scratching my head for two hours trying to work out why the rotor wasn't coming off after removing callipers, tapping/banging away to no success, "there must be a bolt at the back", Re-Read repair manual no help, YouTube videos no help (made it worse) back and fourth, back and fourth. Then I thought lets grab some brake cleaner and spray around the hub CHA-CHING we have a winner ladies and gentleman.

                    Things I learnt
Loosening wheel nuts while jacked on stands and the missus on the brakes is a pain in the ass and could do damage. Luckily no visual damage.
There is no need to remove Axel nut to remove rotors (Although I do have a boot that needs replacing so I've now saved time)
Might be easier to remove brake lines from the caliper and bleed brakes next time.

                    Things I need to learn
Can I disconnect the connector on the front end of the calliper, I thought I read somewhere that ill have issue if I did, the lines/cables made it a little awkward?

I need an inner boot kit as LHS has a split, hopefully no damage, Genuine is $99, Sprints do them for around $20 and Motorgear is about the same price for 2, any recommendations?

Should I drop diff oil(Not due yet) and remove both CV's and get them inspected or jack one side and replace the boot only? How high would I need to jack up to prevent oil spill?

                    Cheers

                    • Fumoto oil drain valve just arrived!

Can't wait to get it on. 121,5xxKm on it now so I'll have to wait another 8000km to do my first oil change.

                      • Wouldn't mind seeing a pic of it installed and clearances with the bashplates on too, Wtrxprs007. Saw these oil drain taps a while ago and though it was a brilliant idea as long as it doesn't provide any snag points for rocks and twigs to open it up while you're out on the tracks.

Also, you won't damage the vehicle by doing an oil change before you hit 130k, just saying... :P

                        • Would love to see how this clears. Seeing in another thread that people say the full nipple ones actually extend out further than the bash plates had me a bit worried and found this short nipple one and went "that's the one".

Eh, had it changed recently by dealer anyway so I'll just wait the 10k usage interval

                            • Had a little accident from misjudging in a badly engineered multilevel car park on Friday.

The moulding on the quarter panel actually popped out and broke one or two clips.

This is how it sits now

Sanded back the scratches and roughness. Gonna paint it today when I wake up. Hope it looks unnoticeable when it's finished

After a week of messing around with installing my dual battery system, I've finally finished it. I put it down the passenger side and in the rear compartment.

I reckon I just need a volt meter and maybe an Anderson plug there to finish it off
