Given the dust that came with it it's been sitting on a shelf some where for ages. There's heaps of cut-outs to clear other bolts and fixings so maybe they changed that a bit. They still didn't get it right because one cut-out was too small.Dave

Whilst I was putting everything back into the right side I noticed some rust starting to build up on the battery tray. This is my second tray for the aux - BT64. Been in for about 2 years. So I got to it with wire wheel, rust prep, primer and black rust rid paint. Let's see how long it lasts this time.Dave

Impressed with the Rhino rack Backbone system so over past few days have knocked up a similar version. Got a full length alloy rack off gumtree for $300 so removed the original 3 bar setup and made new brackets to fit onto roof. Then machined up 2 lengths of aluminum angle to bolt onto brackets that the new rack can be fixed to. Method in my madness because want to knock up a boat loader so this way will be easier to swap between the two. After machining slots so could reach the nuts for fixing went a bit further and machined sections out to add a bit of bling to the plain angle.
Deciding now whether to keep alloy or powdercoat black.

Seriously, nice work. Those of us with only angle grinders and drills are very jealous.Dave

Thanks Dave
The rack is pretty well made but the brackets that were supplied with it to fit onto roof were
Cr*p.Last edited by sparksy; 01-06-2016, 08:40 AM.
