Hi Bushbasher, would M6x12 be long enough, or too short, and too fiddly to use, seems like there is lot sticking out, would like to reduce that if possible. How many did you need in total in the end? (roughly)

My bad, I used M6 x 10mm. They were long enough with a bit extra to cope with the double washers. 70 should be plenty. Buy in bulk from Covs, makes sure they are loose and not packaged as this cheaper.

        Nice job Dave
Commitment getting those guards removed along with the other components.
Are there any plastic clips etc. that get sacrificed during the task?
p.s. The new coating on the ARB bar looks smick.
        Cheers

          Wow that looks awesome.

May I ask where the entry point is for the leaf litter? It's a tad worrying to see the rubbish there.

                Hi Dave,

Looking at your pictures I realize that I haven't been supplied the top panels, only the bottom ones for both sides.
Although mines a 150, do I also need the top panel as well?
Any help with the part number if I do? I only need to do the left side ATM.

                Dobbo.

The 150 only has panels that fit under the guards as far as I am aware.

I guess it's all part of a total package. Who knows how well just having the bottom panels will hold out.

Later model 150 already have a double skin reinforcement in the area behind the coil/shock on the inner fender.

Leaves that drop down the mesh on the plastic cowling behind the bonnet and in front of the screen. The good thing is there was no signs of rust. Next time after big trip it might pay to get some water pressure down there.

The horrible black round clips that hold the plastic under fender. Some come out some don't. I got a ten pack from Mr Toyota.

I had to redo the snorkel because I couldn't line the guard back up with the snorkel still fitted. Need longer arms to put the bolts back in.

Thanks. Mine is much older so I'm expecting a pile of rubbish down there.

Just thought I'd update this thread now i've had this fix done. I ended up hitting up a handful of panel beaters until I found someone confident in the job and who actually wanted to do it. He had seen a heap of Prados the same but his eyes lit up when I pulled out the genuine repair kit. They even got the toyota rep down to see it.

It ended up costing $693 to have the cracks neatly welded up from both sides, panels removed, the 4x Toyota pieces installed, repainted and re-assembled. I was pretty happy with that and they gave it a thorough once over while they were at it and seem to think the car's worth hanging onto. Fingers crossed it's a long term fix.

I just gave mine 6 weeks of bush-bashing with no signs of any cracking so it hopefully will be the end of that issue.
